Showcase Sunday (#48) + Author Signing Event!!

Welcome to Showcase Sunday, hosted by Books, Biscuits and Tea. The aim of this event is to showcase our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed form the libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders this week. For more information about how this feature works and to join in, click here.

Long time no see! ;) Here are all the goodies I've accumulated over the last couple of weeks since I last posted a Showcase Sunday post:

Books for Review:

The Dark World (Dark World, #1) Divided (Dualed, #2) Remnants of the Damned (Abyssal Sanctuary, #1)

Stone of Destiny (The Danaan Trilogy, #2) MARY: The Summoning (Bloody Mary, #1)

Library Loot:

Amazon Freebies (well, they were free when I got them, lol):

Awakening (The Geis, #1) Investigating the Hottie

Books Bought + Author Signing Event :D

So, a couple of weeks ago I went to see an author who came to my town, something that NEVER happens!

I was SO excited when I found out Marissa Meyer was coming to town! No one I know of ever comes here, and, hello! Marissa Meyer! *Eeep* Anyway, this flyer was actually at my school and when I saw it I started fangirling so hard I freaked out my classmates... what can I say, I'm a book nerd at heart ;)

The event was very fun! She talked about how she got started writing, how she came up with the idea for The Lunar Chronicles, and she even told us a couple of fun stories! Anyway, I had such a great time and Marissa is just a great person! Here is what I got for this event:

And I also got quite a lot of book swag... I don't know how many times I crept up to the table to grab buttons and bookmarks, and then I sent my brothers (my 10-year-old twin brothers who tagged along with me) to go get me some more. Ahem, yeah. Lol. I had Marissa sign a couple of bookmarks so I can give them away to you guys! :D

I dont know if you recall, but I went to see Marissa at another signing event not too long before this one, so that's where Cinder came from :) This time around though I didn't take any pictures 'cause my phone was dying! Ugh!

I have unfortunately not started reading this series yet, but after this event I am CONVINCED that this series is going to be amazing! I love fairy tale retellings and cannot wait to start it! :D

Okay, I think that's it for me! What bookish things did you get this week? Also, I'd like to know if you've been to any singing events. If so, who did you get to meet??

    1. Thank you Pili! And I actually don't go to very many events since it, most of the time, requires a 3+ hour drive =/ But in the end I think it's worth it ;) Hopefully you'll get to see some awesome authors overseas in the near future!
