Synopsis:

A weird tale of ghostly love and revenge!

All of sixteen-year-old Cara Jones's friends are dead. Their bodies were found lying atop the same grave in Duskhaven Cemetery. The coroner's report lists the girls' cause of death as "massive cerebral hemorrhage," but Cara doesn't believe it. She knows something strange and terrible is happening.

When Cara hears a voice in her head commanding her to "Come to the cemetery," she knows time is running out. With no one else to turn to, Cara asks her secret crush, Jake Rogers, for help. As they begin to put together clues, the mysterious voice gets louder and it feels like she's losing her mind...

Can Jake and Cara unravel the ancient secret before she joins her friends in death?

My rating: ★★★☆☆

Cara’s friends are all dead. They died one by one, in the same way and in the same place—the cemetery. Cara fears she’s next, so she goes to the cemetery to decipher this mystery before she also turns up dead. All with the help of her crush, Jake, of course.

Overall, I really liked the short story. First of all, Cara and Jake were super cute together! And the reveal of the mystery I thought was pretty okay. It made sense, but I kinda saw it coming. I’m not usually a fan of epilogues, but the epilogue to this was pretty creepy and interesting, I have to admit.

If you’re looking for something spooky to read, this one is a short and sweet read! (Well, not sweet ‘cause it’s kinda creepy... but you know what I mean! Lol)

Synopsis:

What is the secret of the ancient mansion that broods on the hill? Why is everyone afraid to enter?

Sixteen-year-old Deb Gordon's mom is a realtor. She doesn't believe the local legends about murders and madness. When her mom disappears inside Hex House, Deb must follow. What she finds will shock you, will tear the sanity from your skull and send it screaming into darkness...

My rating: ★★★☆☆

Deb and her mom are new in town. Mom is a realtor and she is selling a house, one which she doesn't know is haunted. Extremely haunted. So when her mother goes missing when visiting the house, Deb decides to go looking for her. Stupid, but also understandable.

I really liked the writing in this short story and the way it described the house, almost as if it were alive. It was very interesting and way creepy! The imagery was just... *shudders* It was great! I really appreciate the spooky writing and atmosphere of the story.

I also really liked the history of the house—it was horrifying and gruesome and totally my thing! And the ending was f*cking brutal! It was definitely a “muahaha!” moment and I totally enjoyed that, lol.
