Monthly Wrap-Up: May 2020

Hope everyone had a good month! I'm still trying to adjust to my night shift schedule, and with every week that passes, it's getting better. We're still under lockdown and our numbers have not gone down or plateaued, which is very upsetting. But I have hope that in the coming weeks/months things will start to get better. Reading wise, things are going okay. My mood for reading is still all over the place and nowhere at the same time. I just don't know what I'm in the mood for or if I'm in the mood for anything. It's a weird time 🤷‍♀️

Finish the Series #8: Actual Progress!

In the past I've done these Random Reads posts where I would randomly choose a series to finish, but that hasn't worked out that well for me, me being a mood reader and all. So I decided that I would just pick a couple of series I'm in the mood for every so often and then post about it to really cement in that commitment 😅

Monthly Wrap-Up: April 2020

Hope you guys had a better April! For me it's still not great BUT I am doing so much better mental health-wise. I think I'm finally getting used to the world we have to live in right now. I think I'm just refusing to believe that we are pretty much living in what's almost a dystopian world straight from a novel. But things will get better for us!

This past week was my first week working night shift, and omg it's HARD! I feel like I'm sleep deprived all the time! Hopefully I'll get a good schedule down pretty soon here.

I also finally got out of my reading slump and started writing reviews again! Yay!

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? #191: Long Time No See

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Kathryn at Book Date and Unleashing Reads.

Why, hello there. I haven't done one of these in a hot minute. But there was honestly no point because I wasn't doing any reading... at all. Last week however, I started using the app Bookly which I set to remind me to read every night.

So for a couple of days, I read at least one chapter before bed, but then yesterday morning I woke up with the urge to finish the book I was reading... and I did! 🙌

Monthly Wrap-Up: March 2020

How is everyone? I hope you're all doing well under the circumstances. March was a tough month not only for me, but for everyone around the world, I presume.

Supernatural family is amazing | Supernatural Amino

The things that are going on right now really got to me. I've been feeling very down and my anxiety is bubbling just under the surface. Fun times. All of this just killed my mood to read. I was doing SO well in January (10 books read) and February (15 books read), but this month? Oh, you just wait and see...

Synopsis:

A fierce gladiator queen must face off against her enemies in an epic battle in this next thrilling installment of New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Estep’s Crown of Shards series—an action-packed adventure full of magic, murderous machinations, courtly intrigue, and pulse-pounding romance.

Queen Everleigh Blair of Bellona has survived the mass murder of the royal family, become a fearsome warrior trained by an elite gladiator troupe, and unleashed her ability to destroy magic. After surviving yet another assassination attempt orchestrated by the conniving king of Morta, Evie has had enough. It’s time to turn the tables and take the fight to her enemies.

There is no better opportunity to strike than during the Regalia Games, a time when warriors, nobles, and royals from all the kingdoms come together to compete in various sporting events. With the help of her loyal friends, Evie goes on the attack at the Regalia, but things don’t turn out the way she hopes. Soon, she is facing a terrifying new threat, and she will have to dig deep and learn even more about her growing magic if she has any chance of defeating her foes.

Because to secure her throne and ensure her kingdom’s survival, Evie must think like a true Bellonan: she must outsmart and outwit her enemies... and crush the king.

My rating: ★★★★☆

After many assassination attempts on behalf of the Mortan King, it is now time for Evie to come face to face with the guy... and crush him.

That one time Dean Winchester punched me in the face... It was awesome. 8x21 The Great Escapist
