Synopsis:
Townsey Paxton loves to solve mysteries. It's in her blood. After her older brother leaves vet school to manage the agency and care for her, his sacrifices start to take their toll. With the aid of her diverse group of friends, Townsey decides to help. When she learns a woman is in danger, she can't look the other way. She risks her safety to do what she knows is right, but things suddenly go terribly wrong.
I cannot begin to tell you how much I loved this book! But then again, I seem to love anything Juli Alexander writes--I love her! She is definitely one of my favorite authors! She writes really fun stories with lovable characters and this one was no different.
Townsey and her big brother Graham inherited their family’s PI agency and she helps him out as much as she can. Only this time she’s involved herself a lot more in hopes to get a load off her brother, but with the help of her BFF Hearst as well as her other girl friends (whom just happen to have a huge crush on Hearst). But this was definitely more than she bargained for. She is in way over her head, this case turning out to be more dangerous than she could ever imagine.
Paxton PI was very fun and hilarious but suspenseful at the same time--great balance between lightness and the serious stuff. I loved the premise of the book and the execution was even better! It was just very well written and thought out! I seriously enjoyed the story!
I also loved the characters, no surprise there ;) Townsey is headstrong and overall just a good person. I loved her! And Hearst... don’t get me started on him. I ADORED him! He was so sweet and quirky and I absolutely loved the relationship between him and Townsey. They may be BFFs, but the sexual tension between those two was intense! There are no words to describe how much I loved their dynamic. I also loved the relationship between Townsey and her big brother Graham. Oh, and the thing that puts him out of commission for a bit at the beginning was hilarious! And then him and make up... never saw it coming! Hahaha.
Paxton PI was a perfect book all around, in my opinion. I loved the characters, the story, the everything! It was funny and cute and romantic and suspenseful... it was all just great! No complaints from me. In fact, I think I may have to re-read this one soon ;)
