Synopsis:

Revenge is easy, but justice is worth fighting for…

Kenna is tired of being lied to—and hunted by the very allies she once trusted. Unearthing the dark secrets of the superhero world has not only endangered her life, now her boyfriend faces execution for crimes he didn’t commit and her mother is being held captive in a secret governmental prison.

Kenna is determined to stand up for what’s right and save those she loves from unspeakable fates. It’s time for the betrayal to end. It’s time for the real criminals to face justice.

But the truth is even more terrifying than Kenna could imagine. A conspiracy threatens the fate of heroes, villains, and all of humanity. If Kenna’s going to survive, she must draw on her deepest strength: her resilience. Because when Kenna’s pushed to the limit, she doesn’t break down. She fights back.

My rating: ★★★★★

Everything Kenna’s known is a lie. With lying, awful heroes and surprisingly good-hearted villains, her world has been turned upside down. And it only gets worse: her mother was kidnapped, her best friend brainwashed, and her boyfriend is on trial. Now it’s up to Kenna and the rest of the villains to save them from the heroes she once trusted and bring them down for good.

Honestly, I’m not even surprised at how amazing this was. I loved the first one and this one as no different! What did surprise me were all those secrets and plot twists. Holy crap! So freaking insane! And the characters... love every single one! I love Kenna! She is just so head strong and loyal... great MC! I adore Draven, of course. He is the sweetest villain I have ever read about! And oh my gods, Riley and Nitro... I ship them so hard!

“Since when do you defend heroes?” V asks [Nitro], incredulously.
“Since he fell for one,” Dante answers her. “Obviously.”
“Takes one to know one,” Nitro shoots back.
Dante just grins. “Exactly.”
“Whatever.” Nitro tries to play it cool, but suddenly he’s looking anywhere and everywhere but at Riley.

It was freaking adorable! I am also glad that Riley switched sides, even though everyone was wary of him at first... even me! He was just overly hero-y, and you just never knew with him.

I highly recommend this series! Definitely one of the best series I have read! This book was just freaking great! Relentless was action-packed and intense. We met some new, interesting characters and got more of the ones we already came to love. I just loved the interactions between the characters--so much quippiness!

Dante: “I swear to God, Nitro, if I wasn't worried you'd set me on fire again, I’d kick your ass.”
“Why’s Nitro hiding in the back?” I ask Draven as we start toward the cabin.
“V doesn’t like him.”
“Why not? I thought everyone liked Nitro.”
“Everyone who’s normal like me,” Nitro pipes up at the same time Dante answers, “Oh, I don't know. Maybe because he keeps setting me on fire?”
“It was one time, Cole. One freaking time!”
“Besides,” Dante says, “if he’s outside, who will put out the fire when Nitro gets scared.”
“I don’t get scared,” Nitro argues. “I just get...”
“Flustered?” Riley offers helpfully.
Nitro beams. “Exactly.”

And here’s is a little song by one of my favorite bands that reminds me of this series every time I listen to it (I took the “hero” part in this quite literally, as you can see lol)

  1. I haven't read this one yet but I want to give the fist book a try. I actually hadn't heard of the series before now so I'm off to add it to goodreads if I'm lucky my library will have it.
