Sunday Post #466: FINALLY!

What I've been doing:

I am finally leaving on vacation on Tuesday! That's literally all I've been thinking about for the last 3 weeks 😆 I'm going to Mexico for 10 days, nowhere tourist-y this time, but we will be somewhere with terrible cell reception, which I am actually really looking forward to. I just want to disconnect from society, relax, and read my books. Apparently, we are getting wi-fi a day or two after we arrive, so I won't be completely disconnected. Lol. But I'm excited! I hate traveling, so I'm not looking forward to that. But once I'm at my destination, I'm good. Lol.

What I've been watching:

I watched Meth Gator, and it was awful in the best way possible 😆 I love these dumb sci-fi movies! Lol.

What I've been playing:

Here is Carrotlina's Ranch that I made for her (you can click the images to make them bigger):

 

To the left of the house, we have some horse stables.

 

To the right is a training area for the horses, and behind the house is a greenhouse. (The house has a porch that wraps around completely, and I love it! I've never done this before in one of my builds.)

 

Next, we have the living room. It's very cozy.

 

And through the door off the living room is the office. We'll talk about that kid later 👀 And across the office is a hallway leading to the rest of the house.

 

We've got a cozy library with a fireplace (my favorite part of the house 😍 which was actually a last-minute addition to the house because I had made it so big. Lol.) And then the kitchen featuring a carrot painting from Grandma Jade.

 

And across from the kitchen is the dining room, featuring another veggie painting from Grandma Jade. Then the main bathroom.

 

Next is the main bedroom with the en-suite bathroom.

 

And last is the kids' bedroom. It's really cute!

 

Okay, now moving onto gameplay. What we've been doing this generation to earn money is enter horse competitions. You do have to pay to enter, but if you place, you earn back your money and then some. If you don't place, you lose that money... just like I lost $2000 the first time I entered the Ultimate Horse Championship 😭

 

But things between Carrotlina and her hot cowboy have been going well. She proposed to him and he ended up spending the night. Look how cute they are 😭

The next morning he made breakfast for them both, and I knew then that he was a keeper 😍 Then when the Romance Festival rolled around, he invited her to it and I was like, "Waiiiit. Is he trying to tell us something 👀" There's a wedding arch there and...

 

I had them elope! Soon thereafter, they had a baby! I opted to not have them try for baby because pregnant sims can't ride horses, and I need Carrotlina to keep earning money. Lol.

And what did I name the baby who was going to be in the squash generation? Why, Calabastian, of course! In Spanish, squash is calabaza, so that's where the name comes from 😆

 

And here is the kid aged up into an infant, meeting his werewolf grandfather (on the verge of a rampage 😭 I think the kid is fine with it. Lol.) Oh, and my favorite room of the house is obviously the library. It's so cozy! But no one ever used it until her husband moved it! Look at him warming himself up by the fireplace. So cozy.

 

And then my favorite horse, Carrotlina's horse she had since childhood, aged up to an elder 😭 I love him! And he ended up maxing out all his skills!!

 

Ashton, the hot cowboy husband, has been a pretty good dad so far. I had this autonomous interaction pop up and I thought it was super cute... until I panned to them and I realized that he had taken the child to the frozen pond 😭 Dude, it's the middle of winter 😭 Otherwise, it was pretty cute. Lol.

And here is the kid aging up to a toddler.

 

So cute 😭 I don't know what it was about this kid, but I feel like he completed all his toddler skills really quickly, but I'll take it. Lol. I actually aged him up a lot this last week, and that's because I did it earlier than his actual birthday, because he just kept hitting milestones and gaining skills quickly, and I just didn't have anything left to do with him.

 

Meanwhile, Carrotlina completed her aspiration! It took a while, but she did it!

 

And this is the award she got for getting gold in the Ultimate Horse Championship that she failed the first time. She is proudly displaying it in her living room. Lol. Meanwhile, her mother called to say that she felt like changing her job, then she did, and she ended up working at a daycare? 😭 Amethyst, my evil eggplant sim, a babysitter?? I don't know about that, but you do you, I guess. Lol.

 

And here are two screenshots showing how super NOT broken this game is. My unicorn horse is so magical she can turn invisible AND gain the video gaming skill 😭 (Obviously I'm joking--neither of these things should be happening 😭😂)

And I was about to age up the toddler again when Carrotlina got a call from her brother inviting her to his birthday party again! I obviously said yes and invited the whole family! In the second screenshot above she is meeting her nephew for the first time, Rusty's kid.

Meanwhile, her husband and kid immediately went outside to see the animals and pet Rusty's cute mini sheep 🥹 And then I aged up the kid and he just really liked interacting with his grandpa. Lol. Please excuse Aunty Amber, she got in the way of my screenshot. Lol.

 

And here is Calabastian after I gave him his makeover. His color theme is obviously yellow. Lol.

 

And then Santa calls my Sim's husband to tell him this?? Excuse you?! They are doing just fine, thank you very much. Lol. And then said husband keeps showering with his cowboy hat on. Yep, this game is not broken at all 🙃😂

 

And then, another death 💀 I don't know why the partners of my heir's siblings always die 😭 Teresa was married to Rusty and she died. Sigh. Rusty seems fine, though. He asked his sister if he should go on a date with this random sim like two Sim days after his wife died 😭 Good for him though, moving on and all that. Lol.

 

AND one day, the very first thing that happened when I logged on, before I even unpaused the game, was that there was a fire 😭 I couldn't find it so then I unpaused the game for a second and the fire ended up spawning in the library. I knew that was going to happen. Rugs and fireplaces in this game do not mix 😬😂

 

Carrotlina put out the fire out and the firefighters didn't show up until AFTER she did so 😭 At least she got some insurance money to pay for the lost items. Lol. And then ANOTHER death. I knew this was going to happen soon because he was an elder, but Carrotlina's childhood horse, my favorite horse, Buttermilk Ranch, DIED 😭

I always get so attached to the animals, so it always sucks when they die 😢 I was hoping I was going to be out of this household and working on the next generation by the time they died. But no such luck. Luckily, Honey Glaze and Cupcake are still only adults, so I don't have to worry about them yet. (And look at Cupcake in the first screenshot above, crying over her dad!! 😭 I didn't know horses could cry! 😭)

 

Shortly after, the hot cowboy husband started experiencing a midlife crisis 🙃 Sigh. AND THEN ANOTHER DEATH 😭😭😭 The hot butler, Carrotlina's stepdad, if you will, DIED 😭 I loved him. He was such a good dad to Amethyst's kids. Even though at first it was his job because he was a butler. Lol.

Anyway, so this is where we are at with the carrot generation. The last thing I needed to do was complete the aspiration, so we are officially done with the carrot gen!! Up next is Calabastian, the squash gen. I won't share his goals until he's a teen because that's when I'll be able to get started on them, but I think he's going to be an interesting one. I have really been enjoying playing with all this Horse Ranch stuff though. I've had the pack for a while, but I think this was the first time I played with horses. Lol.

I am also still playing Tiny Book Shop and I love it! I shared some screenshots last week, but I don't think I'll share too many more just in case others want to play it. I don't want to spoil it. Lol. But I have played from Summer-Winter, and I'm about to get started on Spring. This game is available on both Steam and Switch, just fyi 👀 I am definitely going to be taking my Switch on vacation with me so I can continue playing this game. Lol.

I got two more spooky summer-y books. Unfortunately, they're on hoopla. The problem with that is that I have the hoopla app on my phone, which I hate reading on, but I also have it on my Kindle Fire, but I wasn't planning on bringing it with me on vacation. I'm bringing my Paperwhite (no hoopla for this Kindle) for sure, but I think bringing TWO kindles with me is kind of ridiculous, so I may have to read them on my phone. Lol.
