Synopsis: Taro Sakamoto was once a legendary hit man considered the greatest of all time. Bad guys feared him! Assassins revered him! But then one day he quit, got married, and had a baby. He’s now living the quiet life as the owner of a neighborhood store, but how long can Sakamoto enjoy his days of retirement before his past catches up to him?!

Team Sakamoto enters an airsoft tournament organized by the shopping arcade in the hopes of winning the million-yen prize. However, things don’t go as planned and they find themselves teaming up with a not-so-sharp sniper called Heisuke. Meanwhile, some shady characters connected to the secret organization that raised Shin are on their way to Sakamoto’s...

My rating: ★★★★★

It had been a while since I last read an installment in this series, and I almost forgot how fun it was!

In this volume, Sakamoto, his employees, and the most recent assassin who tried to kill him join a tournament. Lol. One thing I love about this series is how easily Sakamoto accepts these guys who try to kill him for one reason or another into his little found family. And it’s also nice to see the change of heart and character development these initial antagonists go through.

Anyway, this tournament is an airsoft gun competition that then turns into a real shootout 😬 I loved the setting and the premise of this volume—it was so fun! There are a couple different stories in this volume, but that first one was probably my favorite. Although the one that followed, where Sakamoto left Shin and Lu in charge of the store and a case of mistaken identity ensued, was also a lot of fun. But also kinda heartbreaking because we got some Shin flashbacks. We learned a bit about his past and how he got his ability to read minds. It was a really nice story, but also kind of sad.

But overall, this was a really solid volume. I cannot wait to read more!
