Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon: October 2026
👀 I know I keep disappearing; I apologize 😅 I really have no excuse... it's just that I haven't been able to shake the slump off quite all the way. But it's fine because I decided super last minute to do the readathon 😆 I was going to post this this morning, but we had no power sooo 🤷♀️😂 Anyway, this readathon started today at 5am (for me), and ends tomorrow, on Sunday, at 5 am. I woke up really late this morning, at like 8am (I'm sick, so I allowed myself to sleep lol), so I didn't start reading till like 9am. But we're here! Lol. (You can find more info on the readathon HERE and on their IG HERE.)
2pm update:
I haven't posted much of anything because I literally haven't read a single book this month so far 😱 I know. But I finally finished the book I started last month! Literally took me a month to read this ðŸ˜
I unfortunately did not love this as much as I did The Hacienda, and I think that might have been one of the reasons (aside from the general slump) why I was struggling with it. LOVED the vampire stuff, but it also included one of my most hated tropes, and I just could not get over it: the miscommunication trope 🫠But anyway, this is what I've been reading all morning and afternoon. I read about 255 pages of this one.
Aside from reading, I honestly haven't been doing much today. I am just starting to get a headache, so I took some medicine because we can't have that during a readathon. Lol. As for what's next, I have some books that I need to take back to the library, so I'm gonna look through there and pick something. And I'll be back later... I don't know when. I've obviously gotten real bad at this blogging thing 😂
3:30pm update:
I'm back sooner than I thought because I ended up reading a manga (about 192 pages). Lol. And I loved it! This one was focused a bit more on Shin and some internal struggles, which I enjoyed because I love him.
Up next is this nonfiction:
I am SO excited to dive into some wackiness! I loved Quackery by these authors, so I've been really looking forward to this one! (Also, no more headache, yay! Am struggling with a bit of congestion and nonstop sneezing, but I'll live 😆)
10:30pm update:
I read 136 pages of Pseudoscience and I'm having so much fun with it! I did take a little micronap during the flat earth theory section 😂 But that's only because I'm sick. Lol.
Speaking of which, I think I'm gonna call it a night. The bones in my face are starting to hurt from the pressure in my sinuses 😖 But I think I did pretty well today despite this cold! I read a total of 583 pages, which is not bad at all! I have no idea how much I read time-wise because I didn't time myself this time. Didn't have the energy to keep track of that today 😅 But I might keep posting some more reading blogs this week because I have the entirety of it off, so that will be nice. But this was fun! We started off a bit rough with that first book, but the next two books were great!
Let me know if you're joining in on this readathon and what you'll be reading!
Yay for getting some books read for your readathon! Hope you are feeling better.
