Fall Readathon: Day 1
The moment I sat down to write this post, I got a call from work to see if I could actually go in tomorrow even though I'm not scheduled to go back until Monday... Anyway, my answer was LOL no 🥰😆 This sort of last-minute/miscommunication stuff is one of my least favorite things about where I work. It drives me crazy! We had a schedule, so I made plans! Not for tomorrow, but for the rest of the week. And I'm trying to not be such a people pleaser anymore. So that is a no from me, dawg 🤷♀️ Lol. (Therapy is doing wonders for me 😆) Plus, I've been sick, soooo.
But ANYWAY, I want to do some reading, and these days it seems like I only get reading done if I do these sort of readathons. My plan is to do 3-ish days and read 100-ish pages of the book I'm going to start today. Plus do some cozy hobbies and run some errands.
Tuesday - 1:30pm
I really dragged my feet this morning so I got a really late start to the day. Lol. But I'm finally just starting to feel better, so I went out to the library and grab some sushi for lunch.
After the library, where I returned a stack of books and only came out with one (yay lol), I ended up going to a cafe across the street from the sushi place while I waited for my order to be ready, and I got a chai latte and read for a bit. The chai is SO good! Then I got home and had a poke bowl, some mango sushi, and I had forgotten that the poke bowl came with miso soup so that was a nice surprise! Perfect since I'm just getting over a cold! I didn't end up finishing my lunch because it was so much food, so I'm gonna have it as a snack later 😆
Reading-wise, I started The Hope of Elantris and I am SO excited! I love this world! It's only a short story, so I'll be done with it pretty fast. After that, I'm going to be starting The Way of Kings and I am nervous. I don't think I've ever read a book over 1000 pages that was not a textbook 😖 However, It's a Brandon Sanderson book, so I know it's going to be good. But the size of it is intimidating 😅
Like I said, my goal was to read 100-ish pages today. If I only read 50 pages of The Way of Kings today, I'm gonna say that's fine. Lol. I started late, and I also want to do some other things today. So I'll be back later with an update.
Let me know what you've been reading this Summer!
