Synopsis:

First there are nightmares.
Every night Ellie is haunted by terrifying dreams of monstrous creatures that are hunting her, killing her.

Then come the memories.

When Ellie meets Will, she feels on the verge of remembering something just beyond her grasp. His attention is intense and romantic, and Ellie feels like her soul has known him for centuries. On her seventeenth birthday, on a dark street at midnight, Will awakens Ellie's power, and she knows that she can fight the creatures that stalk her in the grim darkness. Only Will holds the key to Ellie's memories, whole lifetimes of them, and when she looks at him, she can no longer pretend anything was just a dream.

Now she must hunt.

Ellie has power that no one can match, and her role is to hunt and kill the reapers that prey on human souls. But in order to survive the dangerous and ancient battle of the angels and the Fallen, she must also hunt for the secrets of her past lives and truths that may be too frightening to remember.

My rating: ★★★★★

Ellie led a pretty normal life, that is, until she turned 17. A gorgeous guy suddenly comes into her life claiming that she is the Preliator, slayer of demonic reaper who reincarnates after dying. Its a never ending cycle: she kills reapers, dies, comes back, kills reapers, and so on. And get this, it turns out the hot guy, Will turns out to be her Guardian!

And so Ellie is thrust into this world of reapers who want her dead. There's one in particular, Bastian, who wants her gone for good...none of that reincarnation stuff. If he could only get his hands on the Enshi, something/someone who could potentially kill Ellie...kill her so that she never comes back to return to her duties.

All this is extremely difficult on Ellie. All of a sudden she is lying to her parents and her friends, she is trying to regain the memories from her past lives that are coming much to slow, she may be developing deeper, forbidden feelings for her Guardian, Will, all while trying to not get killed by the reapers.

This book, I thought, was totally amazing! I wasn't sure what to expect from it, but it totally blew me away!

Recently I've been very obsessive over Greek mythology, indulging myself in all sorts of research just because I absolutely love it. But after reading this I realized that I'm a fan of any kind of mythology in general!

I loved the mythology behind the book, the characters, story line, suspense, action, and romance ;) Will is just and amazing guy; I adore him! Cant wait for book two!!

Have you read this book? If so, what did you think about it? If not, what do you think? Does it sound like something you might want to read? Leave me a comment! :)
