My rating: ★★★★★

Percy AND Carter? YAY!! Rick basically answered our prayers of a cross over and the result was pure freakin' awesomeness! I absolutely loved everything about it! And if you've got no idea what I am talking about, Percy Jackson from "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" and "Heroes of Olympus" AND Carter Kane from "The Kane Chronicles" meet in this clash of mythologies!

This short story was told in Carter's POV, and was extremely funny! I love both Percy and Carter and them meeting each other...you just gotta read it! Here are four of my favorite quotes (be mindful of spoilers):

Carter: "Just get out of here," I said, gritting my teeth. "I've got a crocodile to catch."
Percy: "Dude, I have a crocodile to catch," he insisted. "Last time you tried, it ate you. Remember?"
Carter: I locked eyes with Camper Boy. "We've got to stop the crocodile."
Percy: "Truce," he suggested.
Carter: "Yeah," I said. "We can continue killing each other after the crocodile is taken care of."
Percy: "Deal. Now, could you please untie my sword hand from my head? I feel like a freaking unicorn."
Carter: "Why do I get to keep him occupied?"
Percy: "Because you're more annoying," Percy said. "Just try not to get eaten again."
Percy: "What the creeping crud is that?" he demanded. "You're inside a giant glowing chicken-man!"
Carter: "Hawk!" I yelled.

*wipes away tear of glee* Oh how I love Percy and his sarcastic mouth!

For it being a short story, The Son of Sobek was pretty action-y, which I always love about Rick's novels. They're never slow going! The ending leaves us with a sort of cliffhanger... Is there a chance that Carter and Percy might meet again? Absolutely! Will Rick make it happen? Hopefully! But one never knows...

Rick, as always, has created a master piece for us to devour. It was fantastic! It is especially a MUST-read for those who are fans of Percy and/or Carter!
