Literary Nails: With All My Soul (Soul Screamers #7) by Rachel Vincent

It is finally time for another bookish nail art post, yay! The nail art design this week was inspired by...

With All My Soul by Rachel Vincent

Well, actually this one wasn't so much "inspired." I had already chosen two colors I wanted to paint my nails with (the nude one and the metallic-y gold one) when suddenly I went, "Whoa, these kind of remind me of WAMS!" And that's how this design was created!

So what I did was I painted my ring fingers with the metallic gold and the rest of my nails I painted with the nude color. After that was dry I took some of that same metallic color I used on my ring fingers to sponge onto the top halves of the rest of my nails in a sort of French Manicure gradient type thing. After that was done I decided that the metallic didn't cut it and my design needed more glitter, so I busted out my gold glitter polish and sponged that onto to the very tip of my nails. I also sponged a bit of the same glitter polish over the metallic gold of my ring fingers because, MORE GLITTER!

I am VERY happy with how it turned out! I am such a perfectionist when it comes to my nails (one of the reasons why you don't see these posts more often), so I was very pleased with this manicure. It's not very "artsy" but I actually really love the more simple designs such as this one. It is just so pretty and kind of glamorous, if I do say so myself ;) Plus I really think it goes well with the WAMS cover. I hope you guys like it as well!

What I used:

The Metallic Gold: SinfulColors - Gold Medal

The Gold Glitter: Wet n' Wild Fergie - Gold Album

The Nude Base Color: Maybelline Color Show - Neutral Statement (When I first bought this one I didn't even realize it had a slight gold shimmer to it, as you can see in the 2nd pic above, but I absolutely love it!)

The Top Coat: Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat

Bonus: New Years Nails

This nail art design I actually wore 3 weeks ago for New Years. Now, they aren't meant to be very New Years-y... I just really wanted to try out the new star glitter polish I had recently bought, and this is what I came up with! :) It took me forever to fish out all the individual stars, especially since there are about 5 different star colors, but I think they turned out pretty well, overall. And actually, this manicure didn't last me that long because the stars were so annoyingly scratchy and poky! Next time I use this glitter polish, I'll probably be adding a double layer of top coat just to make double sure the surface is super smooth.

So, what do you think? Did I nail it? ;)

Funny story that's not so funny: I actually have not read With All My Soul yet. I love the Soul Screamers series and have read all the books (novellas included) up until this last one. This is one of those series where I haven't read the last book simply because I don't want the series to end. But I have declared 2015 the year where I finish ALL the series... well, at least all the ones I've started ;) Have you read this series? If not you need to get to it, like, yesterday! It's amazing!

Let me know in the comments below if you have ideas for any other bookish nail art! I am always open to suggestions!

  1. Ooooh, so pretty!! What a wonderful job! This manicure is perfect for any sort of event!
I can only manage to do my nails half decently and only painting with one colour, so this makes me wish I could do something this nice!
    Great job Lili!

    1. Thanks Pili! Doing this gradient type of nail design is actually one of the most easy "nail art techniques," in my opinion. I really think anyone can do it! If you have a makeup sponge lying around just dab some color onto it than sponge it onto the tips of your nails and done! You got yourself a nice gradient! (Though I will be the first one to admit that this type of design is kind of messy and there will be a little clean up required at the end... but totally worth it if you want to give your nails a little flair! And it doesn't have to be perfect, either!)

  2. Oh, this is so cool! I love painting my nails, but I'm too impatient so I don't usually do more than one plain color.

I read the first of this series forever ago and remember loving it but for some reason I just never continued with the series.

Anyway, the manicure it really awesome! =)
