Synopsis:
She Just Wants to Fly.
Ever decided to do something that seemed like a good idea and in the second before there’s no turning back think, I musta been totally mental when I came up with this? And, then, Oh, well, here goes.
That’s how Angel inTraining Grace Lightbourne felt right before she asked the Big Kahuna to go straight to Earth on a mission as a Guardian Angel. The problem? She never was a great student and now she won’t even finish her last three years of school. To make matters worse, Archangel Michael isn’t happy about her special assignment, but Grace is convinced she’s on a fast track to her wings. Besides, how hard can it be? She’s working with humans, after all.
Winging It! was light and fun and exactly what I needed! Before starting this, I had finished reading a particularly frustrating book, so this was a nice change!
Grace was a lot of fun to follow around, especially as she got her bearings on Earth. It was so funny to see her get accustomed to the way of the humans, lol. But, let me tell you, one thing that really bothered me was her stubbornness. First of all, she heads down to earth without going to school--she basically has no idea what she's doing! Then, she is given a set of instructions and rules to follow. Does she read them before starting her assignment? Does she follow the rules? Noooo! Bad, bad decision...
"Still, it would've been a lot easier if I'd read this from the beginning. Oh well, I did figure it out on my own." -Grace
Not the point, Grace! Ugh! I don't know, her lack of common sense just really frustrated me sometimes. And I get that, well, the book is called Winging It!, but good grief! Talk about being unprepared!
Anyway, another character I liked was Victor. He was really sweet! The touch of romance was adorable! Which reminds me: the twists! There were a couple that I was not expecting, which is great! I love being surprised.
As for Grace's assignment, boy was it tough! Dealing with mean girls can be exasperating, but Grace did such a great job getting a handle on things even though, again, she threw the rules and instructions out the window. But she did get a little guidance herself ;) This is one of the twists I was talking about. So surprising!
Although it had it's issues, overall I really liked it! It was fun and light but full of action! Plus, I really enjoyed reading about all the different types of angels and the hierarchy!
Have you read this book? If so, what did you think about it? If not, what do you think? Does it sound like something you might want to read? Leave me a link to your review or comment below! :)
