Sunday Post #450: A Mini Vacation

Welcome to The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer, where I talk about what is going on in life and the blog, and show you all the bookish things I got that week!

What I've been doing:

This week I went out of town for a couple days to visit my cousin and we had a lot of fun! (Before I left, I got my hair done on Thursday and I finally dyed my hair back to purple yesterday! It's nice to have my purple hair again 😌 I'll try and see if I can get a good picture to share next week... maybe? I'll be out of town again, so... lol) We did some shopping, bought a paint-by-numbers and had snacks and watched horror movies. Lol.

She also gave me these:

I love it so much! And then, of course we went to a bunch of bookstores, and I got these:

from the B&N we went to. I was needing new slippers so I took this as a sign 😆 Also, I'm going to California in a couple days to visit family! I am so excited! I haven't been down there in a while, and I need a vacation BAD! Lol. It's been a minute. It was nice to have this mini vacation before my bigger vacation, especially because this year sucks and I've been so stressed out lately. (Also, I already booked another trip to Mexico in August 👀)

What I've been watching:

These are the two horror movies we watched and I really liked them! (We also ended up rewatching Lights Out... it's one of my favorite horror movies!)

And when I got home for the weekend, I was feeling in the mood for some Godzilla, oddly. Lol. Godzilla Minus One was amazing! Which I was not surprised because I kept hearing really good things about it.

And I'm actually still in the middle of Godzilla x Kong as I write this, but so far it's... fine. Lol. Not surprised about that either 😆

What I've been playing:

This week I didn't have a lot of time to play my silly little Sims game, but I did make a little progress in my Super Sim save file! She got her first degree from university! Only 11 more to go 😭

The first degree she got was the Villany degree which helped her start out at level 7 of the Criminal career, which is pretty amazing considering there are 10 total levels in careers. She was also doing the Dastardly aspirations, and one of her milestones required her to get into fights, so that's what I had her do... and she hated it 😭

See what I mean about this Sim not fitting these mean aspirations and goals. But she's a Super Sim, so she has to complete ALL the aspirations, careers, and skills... no matter what they are. (Also, in that first screenshot up above, I was laughing so hard because as my sim was fighting her enemy, a random neighbor got attacked by a dog 😂)

A thief also broke into the new crappy apartment I moved her into and she, of course, being the crime boss that she is, beat him up too 😂 I didn't play any of my Legacy save this week, the one with all the drama, but maybe I'll get to it sometime today and see what new insanity awaits us 😂

I also got a new Switch game for $5 (they were having a pretty big sale!) It's this SpongeBob cooking game, and honestly, it's pretty fun. I love a cooking game!

Nail art of the week:

Some linear holo this week with a little gradient on some nails.

Ah! I am SO excited for this one! I have been waiting for this one to arrive in my inbox and it finally did this week! I'm actually almost done with it and I am thoroughly enjoying it!

Library Loot:

I ended up getting some audiobooks from the library. I'm not really an audiobook person, so we'll see how it goes with these lol.

Won in a Giveaway:

I also won a giveaway and I picked this book as my prize! Very excited to finally have it! Can't wait to read it!

  1. I haven't heard of How Rory Thorne Destroyed the Multiverse so I had to check it out immediately and it sounds like the perfect chaotic sci-fi I need on my TBR 😂

I'm so happy you got this mini vacay!! And all those other trips you have planned sound amazing as well 😍 Sometimes getting out of town and away from all the people and problems you deal with daily is the best way to relax. I hope you have a great time! ♥

All the bookish merch you got is super cute!

    1. The book sounds SO good! It was giving me The Lunar Chronicles vibes since it's both fairy tale-ish AND sci-fi! I hope it's as good as it sounds!
