Sunday Post #465: So Many Fun Bookish Things!

What I've been doing:

I've been doing a lot better this week, anxiety-wise, and I definitely think it has to do with my upcoming vacation that I am really looking forward to! I leave to Mexico in about a week and I'll be there for about 10 days. Where we are going, the internet service is terrible, and I'm actually really looking forward to that 😆 No internet, just me and books. Lol. (Oh, I'm also writing this as purple hair color sits in my hair. Lol. It was super faded, and I wanted to touch it up before my trip. Lol.)

What I've been watching:

I don't think I watched much of anything this week? I honestly don't remember. Lol.

What I've been playing:

I just remembered that I didn't take screenshots of Carrotlina's house. But that's okay because I still needed to decorate one bedroom, the one for her future kid, but that kid isn't even born yet, so 😂

 

Anyway, Carrotlina has been living her best life with her horse, away from her mother's drama. More or less. Lol. The moment she moved out with her horse, the hot butler called to let her know that they adopted some horses 😂 Good on them, I guess. Lol.

One of the goals of this generation is to have three horses, so I went and had her adopt another one! The white horse is the one she had and grew up with, Buttermilk Ranch, and the new horse is Honey Glaze! You know, because you can make roasted honey glazed carrots 😆 I love me a roasted carrot 🤤 Anyway, luckily, the horses seem to be getting along!

 

The hot butler called again to let Carrotlina know that he found an engagement ring in her mother's bag??? I mean, I think this is a horrible idea, but I ended up saying yes for the drama 😂 And then her younger brother called her to invite her to his birthday party! I loved this! I hardly ever get these kinds of calls, so it was nice.

 

So she went over to his party where he aged up to a young adult, and she got to meet her family's horses! And then, she actually asked her brother Rusty if he wanted to move in with her 👀 Now, I did this so she could have help with the horses. But story-wise, she knows what a toxic living environment he was in, so he gave him an out. He can stay with her and help her with the horses while he gets on his feet and finds what he wants to do with his life. Shortly after both of them left, though, their younger sister Amber, who is still a teen at this point, called to ask if you could come over to hang out 😭 The poor kid. Lol. But, I mean, she lives with both her parents, so maybe life will turn around for them three? Idk. Lol. (Remember, all three siblings have different dads. Lol.)

 

But these two guys are living their best life on the ranch. It helps because Rusty is an Animal Enthusiast, so taking care of the horses is great for him! Eventually, he met this Sim Teresa that he really liked. I liked her because she has the Horse Lover trait, and that just fits with this whole generation. Lol.

 

It was hard to romance her because she also has the Romantically Reserved trait, but they built up their friendship, and they really hit it off.

 

Meanwhile, I had our two horses try for baby, if you will, and Honey got pregnant with a foal!

 

And the foal was eventually born. Look at how cute she is 😭 I named this horse Cupcake because where there's a carrot cake, there has to be a carrot cupcake 😆

One day, I get a notification that one of their friends died. And Rusty was sad for a very long time, so I go in and investigate because the name did not ring a bell, WELL it turns out that it was his GIRLFRIEND 😭 I don't even know how I didn't realize that 🤦‍♀️😂

 

So we went on a sidequest to bring her back to life because I could not be bothered to find someone new for him. And to do that, they had to go and ask their mom for a big favor. This day was a summer holiday, so I invited the whole family over and made a day out of it. They all have a really complicated relationship. Amethyst is a horrible person, but I'd like to think that under all that evilness, she loves her family in her own twisted way.

 

And it ended up being a really nice day, hanging out with the family.

 

Mom and her hot butler are still going at it, so maybe she's changed her ways? Who knows. And then, a couple of days later, I get this notification that Amethyst's brother died! 😭 I was glad he was able to hang out with the family one last time before he died.

 

A couple days after that, it was family reunion day, which was a sad day, AGAIN 😭 Up above is Carrotlina comforting her cousin. Hadley was his dad. And in the next screenshot, I had Carrotlina take the grave to the cemetery where she ran into her mom and her dead grandparents. I have no idea what Amethyst is telling them here, but she DID get struck by lightning moments before because it was storming out 😂

 

Back home, Amber came over to hang out for a bit, and Carrotlina and Rusty continue to care for and train the horses.

 

When he was able to finally invite Teresa over (because it is infuriatingly hard to invite ghosts over for some reason) he gave her a gift! It was the favor he asked his mom for. What was that favor? A bottle of Nectar from her cellar.

 

One of the things the previous gen focused on was nectar making, so it was super convenient that their mom had bottles of this Vitality nectar lying around. Lol. This nectar can bring ghosts back to life!

So all was good there. Not too long after this, Carrotlina aged up into an adult and was ready to maybe look for love? So I made this sim up above on the right to be her love interest. We'll see how it goes.

 

Meanwhile, Cupcake aged up again! I gave her a complete makeover because she just looked a lot like her dad. So to differentiate them, I made her orange and gave her a unicorn horn 😂 Unfortunately, there are no unicorns in the sims. This is basically just an accessory. But she looks cute! She was giving me creamsicle vibes and I almost changed her name 😂

 

Here are the siblings with their respective partners having dinner. And Carrotlina and the hot cowboy I made for her really hit it off! Yay! Look at these two having healthy romantic relationships despite the toxic environment they were raised in 😭

 

It was going so great that I decided it was time for Rusty to move out and live his life. So I had him and Teresa elope, gave Teresa a makeover, they tried for baby...

And I moved them out to a farm of their own where they could raise their family and care for their own animals 💖 

Tiny Book Shop is out!!! I played a demo of this game on Steam a while ago, and while I didn't love it, I was intrigued. I wasn't sure if I wanted to buy it or not, but I did end up doing so (on Switch. It's out both on Steam and Switch right now!) and I am happy I did because I am obsessed with it! I've been playing it nonstop! The thing I didn't like about it in the demo, I still don't like. Like I said, it's fun, but there are moments of time were you are just doing nothing and waiting for the next person to ask for a recommendation, and I just don't love that. I wish you got more recommendation requests. Or honestly, I was really wanting a fast-forward button like we have in the sims 😂

 

But that's pretty much the only thing I dislike about it. Otherwise, it's super cute and cozy!

AND there are REAL books in here! It's so fun! It even has manga 😲

And I also like that you get quests. I think it's been like 3 or 4 days since this came out, and I am hooked! Despite the slowness that can creep in while you're waiting to help people.

It's here!! I pre-ordered this a while ago when B&N had a sale, and I am so happy it's finally out! There are a couple of library books I have to read because I need to turn them in before I leave on my trip, but after that, this will definitely be one of the next books I read!

And I got another Jennifer Estep ARC 😭 This is her fantasy/sci-fi/romance series and I obviously love it. I think I'm probably going to be reading this one while I'm on vacation.

I got two more spooky summer-y books from the library. I'm contemplating whether I read these now or on my trip. I got these from hoopla through the library, and while I have the hoopla app on my Kindle Fire, I was actually planning on taking my Paperwhite. I really don't want to take both. Lol. I could read them on my phone, but I hate reading on my phone. Lol.
