Synopsis:

Love or life.
Henry or their child.
The end of her family or the end of the world.
Kate must choose.

During nine months of captivity, Kate Winters has survived a jealous goddess, a vengeful Titan and a pregnancy she never asked for. Now the Queen of the Gods wants her unborn child, and Kate can't stop her--until Cronus offers a deal.

In exchange for her loyalty and devotion, the King of the Titans will spare humanity and let Kate keep her child. Yet even if Kate agrees, he'll destroy Henry, her mother and the rest of the council. And if she refuses, Cronus will tear the world apart until every last god and mortal is dead.

With the fate of everyone she loves resting on her shoulders, Kate must do the impossible: find a way to defeat the most powerful being in existence, even if it costs her everything.

Even if it costs her eternity.

My rating: ★★★★☆

I LOVE mythology, and I thought, that overall, this series was a pretty good addition to the story of Hades and Persephone.

However, that thing with the Tests...again! To me this still makes no sense (see book #1 review). I mean, I did like the book, it's just that these couple of things bothered me a bit.

And even though I liked the book, it actually took me a while to finish it because it got so incredibly depressing at one point that I just decided to put it down for a bit... It was just more sadness than I could handle :(

One thing (or person, I should say...no, god!) I loved without a doubt was Hades...err, Henry! He is just the sweetest thing ever and I absolutely adore him! I really liked Kate, too. Even though she can be stubborn at times, she is also very caring, loyal, and a very smart girl! And then there's Hera... She is such a frustrating character! But I'm pretty sure that's the whole point ;)

Overall, I really enjoyed the book with all its suspense and romance. I expected a bit more fighting action, but it was pretty okay nonetheless.

If you have not read the ending to this series yet, be prepared for many surprises, lots of crying (on your behalf), and a good dose of Henry-Kate romance!

Have you read this book? If so, what did you think about it? If not, what do you think? Does it sound like something you might want to read? Leave me a comment! :)

  1. Think I have this entire series on my kindle but I haven't read it yet. Didn't know that it was a variation of the Hades/Persephone story! I love mythology so will be moving this up my TBR pile :) Great review!

    1. Yeah, it's almost like a sequel to the Hades/Persephone story. And definitely do give it a shot if you love mythology (much like me ;))!

  2. Uh-oh. Lots of crying? Not good for my eyes and heart. I love Kate and Henry and my heart will really broke if something bad will heartbreaking will happen to them in this last installment of this trilogy. Awesome review, by the way. :)
