Synopsis:

The good news: Bobby survived her Undead school trip. Bad news: her best mate, Smitty, is missing. Bobby knows she's got to find him even if it means risking it all and going out into the starving-zombie-infested wastelands again. Even if it means taking fellow survivors including a couple of old frenemies along for the ride. And even if the zombies are not the only ones who are chasing them this time.

My rating: ★★★★☆

Unfed takes place right after the first book, Undead, sort of... well, for Bobby it does, anyway. Long story, kinda spoiler-y, so that's all I'm saying. But anyway, Bobby wakes up in the hospital after the zombies attacked her and her friends on that second bus they got on. Here Bobby and her friends are, in this hospital, healing and relatively safe... until they're not! Bobby once more finds herself running for her life, with zombies on her heels wanting to eat her face. It was all very exciting actually. I love a book that starts with action right away! They may be kids, but boy are the smart! Especially Bobby! I just loved the whole bit in the hospital! So awesome!

I was so glad that the crew was back together--Bobby, Alice, and Pete! I love these characters so much, especially because of how different they are from one another. That's what makes them interesting and it just works! We also get a new character in the group, I believe his name is Russ. Probably. I don't know, I was kinda meh about him and didn't really like him all that much, especially when it looked like he was trying to get between Bobby and her sort-of-but-not-really-boyfriend Smitty! Grrr, NO!

Oh my gods, Smitty! I totally missed him! Basically this book revolves around the guys following clues from Bobby's mom to find Smitty since she kinda hid him away. Remember, he is now the only one with the antidote to the zombie virus and the evil scientist people want him, obviously. It was all rather interesting and was so glad when Smitty finally did show up (about halfway into the book). Love him!

Like in the last book, I really liked the whole survival feel to it--them running away not only from the zombies, but from the scientists and other totally evil government officials. This sort of things just really appeals to me.

And oh my gods! Traitor alert! At the end of the book we get a whole bunch of twists and turns that I loved! Most of them I did not guess, but there was one that did not surprise me: the traitor. I didn't like this person from the start and I just knew there was something off about them.

Overall, Unfed was a pretty good book. I really enjoyed it and I thought it wrapped up well enough. It did kinda feel like there was more to the story, though. Will there be another book? I honestly have no idea. I've been digging around but came up with nothing. The ending certainly feels like it's open enough for more, so if there were to be a book 3, I would SO welcome it! And if not, well, I really enjoyed this series. It was a lot of fun! :)

  1. I hate it when you read a book and you can't figure out if there's going to be another book or not. I've had that where I search and search and just can't be sure!
