Synopsis:

This short story takes place when Gin is a teenager. It’s told from the point of view of Fletcher Lane, Gin’s assassin mentor, and focuses on Gin’s first solo job as the assassin the Spider.

My rating: ★★★★☆

This short story is told in Fletcher’s POV, Finn’s dad and Gin’s mentor.

Eventually, every assassin needed an apprentice, a fresh face and a clean set of hands to take over and do what needed to be done—and Gin Blanco was mine.

This was such a touching story—I really liked it! In this story we get to see Gin go off on her first solo kill—some asshole named Jimmy Fontaine—at only sixteen years old. I’m so glad Gin went after that creep! And Gin doesn’t know, but Fletcher decides to keep an eye on her just in case, which was totally sweet!

I loved Gin, like always. Not only was she her usual badass self, but she was also very sassy, and I it was awesome! The story, for being short, was very tense and had great action (from Gin, of course)! There were good recaps of things that have previously happened, and mouthwatering food descriptions. Curse you Jennifer! Lol. In all seriousness, this was great and I highly recommend this short read!

She was already better than I’d been at her age. Colder. Calmer. More focused. One day soon, she’d be better than I’d ever dreamed of being.
