Monthly Wrap-Up: May 2025

This was my worst reading month yet 😬 Read 3 books, which was a total of 679 pages... 1144 pages less than the previous month 🫣 Which is particularly funny because last month was my best reading month 🫠😂
  • 2 were full-length novels (1 a re-read) and 1 manga
  • 2 were part of a series, and 1 was a standalone
  • I caught up on 1 series
  • All 3 were finished copies
  • All 3 were physical books
  • 1 was a 4.5 stars, 1 was 4 stars, and 1 was 3 stars
  • All 3 were traditionally published
  • 1 was by a new-to-me author, and 2 were by authors I've previously read
  • 1 was an adult book, 2 were YA
  • 2 were horror, 1 was action

Books read this month:

This was a really fun volume of Spy x Family! I'm glad we got closure from the last volume because that cliffhanger was brutal! Lol. And this one also ends in a little bit of a cliffhanger, so I'm really looking forward to when the next volume releases later this summer.

Then I re-read The Prom Queen in preparation for the movie, and I think I liked it less this second time around. I just thought the motive was really dumb, but very on par for a Fear Street book, so I'll allow it 😂 And it was still a fun read. I love Fear Street, even when the books aren't that great. Lol.

And the last book I read this month, I actually just finished, which is why this post is late lol, was We Used to Live Here. This is also a horror book, and it was very weird... in the best way possible. I really enjoyed it!

Favorite book of the month:

This is just a fun series

Least favorite book of the month:

None! I enjoyed them all to one extent or another!

Let me know what your favorite read this month was and what you are looking forward to reading next month!

  2. I think my students like the Spy x Family series too. I don't have this one yet. Will be on my first order next school year! Hopefully June will be a better reading month for both of us.
