Sunday Post #451: Back From a Much Needed Vacation

Welcome to The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer, where I talk about what is going on in life and the blog, and show you all the bookish things I got that week!

What I've been doing:

I'm back! I was out of town for about a week visiting family in California, and I had so much fun! It was so nice to catch up with them because I don't see that side of the family very much. We didn't really do much, just hung out with family, and there was a quinceaΓ±era on Saturday. Also, we were basically in wine country aka around the Napa valley area, so I tried a whole lot of wine πŸ˜… I'm not even really a wine person. Lol. I am, however, a book person, so I was very excited when I found a bookstore nearby where we were staying with my aunt. It was like a 10-minute walk into town, so that was really nice.

We got back home Tuesday evening, and the day after, I found out that I didn't have to work Thursday or Friday because my patient was going to be away at some appointments in Seattle. When I tell you I was sad because that meant we could've stayed in California longer πŸ˜† But I had a great time overall. It was a much-needed vacation. And I'm also glad we ended up coming back when we did because I started my period the day after we arrived, and those are always brutal for me 😩 I'm currently on day 3 of painful cramps (on Saturday as I write this) and I am super over it πŸ™ƒ

What I've been watching:

On the way back from our trip (it was like 14-ish hour drive), I finally started watching the new Daredevil show! I was so excited! I love Daredevil! And overall, I liked the new show. But it definitely wasn't as good as the original Netflix Daredevil. Lol.

Aside from that, I'm still re-watching Criminal Minds. Lol. I'm currently on season 10... omg that has gone by fast πŸ˜…

What I've been playing:

This week on what I am referring to as the Super Sim Telenovela, my Super Sim Lacey got her first degree from university, the Villany degree, and put it to good use! She moved out to a crappy apartment filled with mice and bugs 😰

And joined the Criminal career. Her career outfit πŸ˜‚ She really does look like a villain. Lol. She also went and got a tattoo. It's a cute rose, but since she's a mob boss or whatever now, I'd like to think that it's related to that πŸ˜‚ Anyway, she went out for her first kill and accidentally caught herself on fire. Lol. I call that karma. Lol.

Finally, at around the third try, she finally set her target on fire... though she also caught fire AGAIN πŸ˜‚ But she was able to put herself out and watched as her enemy perished.

HER FACE 🀣 It is literally giving telenovela vibes πŸ˜‚ I did all this for her aspiration where she needed to witness a death...

But tell me why she is so pleased with herself afterward πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

After she completed all the Devious aspirations and maxed out the Criminal career, she went back home and visited her family because her mom had a baby! When I first loaded into the lot, said baby was outside in a blizzard while the baby's father was chilling in a lounge chair 😭 These sims, I swear πŸ˜‚

The last time I posted I talked about how she was uncomfortable with being evil and doing all this villany stuff. It just isn't her. Well, when she went to visit her family she had a nice talk with her mom and she decided that she no longer wanted to be a villain or criminal. She quit that career and went back to school to get a better degree (well, she's a Super Sim so she's getting ALL the degrees lol)...

And become a party girl πŸ˜‚ I had her complete the Party Animal aspiration so she threw A LOT of Keg parties in her dorm πŸ˜‚ Also, I have never in my life been in the vicinity of a keg, but I am positive that, in that second screenshot above, that is not how you use them πŸ˜‚

Also, a bunch of her family died all at once. Those plots in the graveyard, almost all of those family members died at the same time! It was crazy! I had her go around the houses to pick up the urns so she could place them in the graveyard, and one of her weirdo friends followed her? I've never had this happen before! And it was so funny because he followed her there and was like, "Oh, what are we doing?" Dude, we're picking up urns because her family freaking died! Read the room! 🀣

I also had her reconnect with her childhood friend and husband from a past life. I wasn't planning on having them get together any time soon, but it was Love day so I thought I'd have them go out on a date. But I guess he was super into it because he asked her to be romantic partners right then πŸ˜‚ I had her accept but they are not getting married anytime soon. She has Super Sim things to do! Lol.

Nail art of the week:

This was my manicure for my trip. It's a little hard to see because the holo is so sparkly πŸ˜… But I decided to do some fancy stamping over it very last minute. I just took off this polish today and will be doing my nails tomorrow with something neon probably. Lol.

Book Haul

Purchased:

This is the book I bought on my trip! And it's the only picture I have because my brother took this book with him! 😭 So he ended up buying 5 manga volumes at this same bookstore and we had all our books in the same bag. We get home, he gets ready to go back to university, and he just grabs the bag and leaves without looking to see what books were in there 😭 I already told him to bring it back when he comes back home πŸ˜’ He's lucky I wasn't planning on reading it any time soon πŸ˜†

Library Loot:

And my holds just came through for these two short sci-fi books!

  1. Sounds like a nice week! Glad you were able to get away. And hey, even if you came back and could have stayed later, sometimes it's nice to have extra time before going back to work to relax at home, at least for me. Love the Sims stuff! And your nails are gorgeous! Hope you have a good week!

    1. It really is! Every time I go on vacation I always take at least one extra day off for this reason. So it was definitely nice that I got a couple of extra days on top of that.
