Sunday Post #456: reMarkable

Welcome to The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer, where I talk about what is going on in life and the blog, and show you all the bookish things I got that week!

What I've been doing:

Just another exhausting week of work. One exciting thing I did get this week was a reMarkable! It's basically an electronic notebook. It's very much like a Kindle Paperwhite, except you write on it. Lol. The reason I got it is because I always struggle with writing reviews, and this year it's just been worse. I feel like I can always better get my thoughts together when I'm writing things by hand instead of typing it out. Idk, I'm weird. Lol. One thing I've done in the past is write my reviews on paper, then I use Google Lens on my phone to copy the text from the page and transfer it to a Google Doc. This will basically be the same thing, except the tablet will convert my handwriting into typed-out text, so it should be easier? Maybe? Idk. I actually haven't tried it yet. Lol. I have written a ton of (short lol) reviews since I got it in the middle of this past week, though. I just have to convert the text and upload the document to my Google Drive. Which should be easy because I connected my Google Drive to my reMarkable. But we will see. I'm very excited to have it, though! And I probably won't use it just for reviews. I love making to-do lists because it's very helpful for my ADHD brain 😂 So I'm sure I'll find other uses for it.

What I've been watching:

Yesterday I watched Novocaine, which is an action/comedy sort of situation. I liked it for the most part. I loved the premise! One thing that was surprising to me was how gory it was. It was honestly worse than some horror movies I've seen, which is saying something because I've seen a lot of questionable horror movies 👀😂😂

Aside from that, I don't think I watched much of anything else (aside from the Karen Read trial on YT that is still ongoing.) But I think I want to catch up on some horror movies today. But we'll see.

What I've been listening to:

" I wrote this about getting over your past. just because your past happened a certain way, does NOT mean your future has to. YOU get to choose what comes next. It all starts by being honest with yourself." -Unlike Pluto

What I've been playing:

Early last week, I finished off all the Power Wash Simulator levels I hadn't done before and now I am officially finished with the game 😭 I mean, there are some DLC I don't have that I'll get during the sale, but I'm done with all of the base game stuff. I really love this game--it's very relaxing. And the good thing about this game is that even though I am technically done with all the levels, it is a very replayable game. I cannot tell you how many times I've gone back and done the skate park 😂 It's one of my favorite levels.

As for The Sims, I actually didn't play a lot until late in the week when the new roadmap was announced. I am SO excited for all the new stuff we're going to be getting! Including a new rewards event that will be starting in about two weeks. So what I did this week is I went back to my save file where I did all the previous rewards events, and just prepared my Sims for what was upcoming. Just as a reminder, below are some of the Sims I've used. The brunette is part of the Rosas family, and I used her grandmother and great-uncle to do the Reaper rewards event back in October. The redheads are part of the Winters family (the Sims below are mother and son), and I used her mother to do the Holiday event this past winter. The blonde I used in the most recent event, the Blast from the Past rewards event that happened earlier in the year. My plan is to bring ALL these families together.

The first step was getting these two guys together. Luckily, they really hit it off. Lol. And another reason why I wanted to get these two particular Sims together is because she is the daughter of the Grim Reaper, and he is the son of Clement Frost aka Santa Claus 😂 Idk, I thought that was fun. I also, ironically, made him a Grouch... and literally named him Cole 😆 Let's just say Daddy Winter is kind of a deadbeat dad in this save 😂

Anyway, here they are pregnant with baby. The blonde was also pregnant at the same time.

The blonde's partner is Emit Relevart from the Blast from the Past event, and they had a cute blue-haired baby boy, Christian! And the other family had a little girl (did I influence these pregnancies using mods so they would work out how I wanted? Yes, yes I did 😆). My plan is to use the girl, Aubrey, to do the upcoming Nature's Calling Event. As for Christian, I'm hoping that he will be her love interest once they're grown up. That's my hope, but things could definitely change, especially because everything is dependent on what the event entails. But for now, they're neighbors and childhood friends! It's very cute!

Meanwhile, I've been alternating playing these two families, having the kids gain skills, and just grow up. I've been playing the most with the Rosas family since Aubrey will be the one to do the upcoming event, and I'm just in love with the family! One day, they went and had dinner with the grandmother for Winterfest (she's the one I used for the first rewards event, the Grim Reaper one! Well, her and her brother), and then she died the following day 😭 So now, all the Sims I used to play the earlier rewards events are all officially dead 😭 To be fair, I am playing on short life span, so. Lol.

And last is some drama...

In this last screenshot, Clement Frost is asking his son if he should ask Faith on a date... Faith is the AUNT of the Cole's WIFE 😭 Santa Claus has no chill. Especially because Cole's mother, Clement's previous partner, had DIED like two days before 😭 I can't with this game 😂

And here are the family trees to make things easier? Idk. Lol. (Oh, and yes. I am ultimately changing the family name to WinterRose. Lol.)

#421: Spooky Books

Book Haul

Purchased:

I pre-ordered these two books from B&N a while back when they had a sale, and they finally released! You can tell I bought these when I was in my fantasy mood 😂

Library Loot:

I also got this nonfiction book from the library. We'll see if I get to it. My mood doesn't know what it wants these days.

How was your guy's week? Get any bookish things? Let me know in the comments below or leave me a link to your post!

  1. reMarkable look so much fun! It seems like the type of gadget that's actually practical and not just aesthetically pleasing 😄

  2. I love your Sims play stories! lol. That reMarkable sounds pretty cool! I feel like my author friend has something like that? She is doing her writing on it because she always writes by hand and now she can just have it translate to the typed version. That one pre-order book sounds interesting, Everyone Wants to Rule the World - Except Me. Hope you enjoy it! Have a good week!

    1. Yeah, that's what I'm hoping to do with my reviews! I haven't actually tried it yet... I'm a little scared since I have horrible handwriting, but I'm sure it will be fine. Lol.
