This has been my best reading month, and it has all been thanks to doing two readathons. Lol. In October, I read 8 books for a total of 2130 pages. That's 1300 pages MORE than the previous month!
- 6 were full-length novels, and 2 manga
- I started 1 series, finished 1, and caught up on 2
- 6 were part of a series, and 2 were standalones
- 4 were finished copies, and 4 were ARCs
- 4 were physical books, and 4 were ebooks
- 1 was a 5-star read, 5 were 4-star reads, 1 was a 3-star read, and 1was a 2-star read
- 6 were traditionally published, and 2 were indie published
- 5 were by authors I've previously read, and 3 were new to me
- 4 were adult books, and 4 were YA
- 1 was sci-fi, 2 action, 2 horror, 1 historical fantasy, 1 cozy mystery, 1 splatterpunk
Books read this month:
Overall, I think I had a pretty good reading month. I started off with a book in my favorite ghost hunting series, Ellie Jordan, and it was good as always! Next, I read a book in another of my favorite series that follows Vanti from the Space Janitor universe, and it was SO much fun! Then, a historical fantasy that was basically Medusa vs Jack the Ripper and it was GOOD! And after, a YA horror book with some Japanese mythology! I really love the mythos in this duology!
Then I read two volumes of Sakamoto Days (fun as always), a cozy fantasy that was unfortunately very boring, and then my first splatterpunk novel, which I'm still trying to erase from my mind 🙃
Favorite book of the month:
I love this series, the characters, the spooky ghosts, and all the intriguing cases the girls investigate 👻
Least favorite book of the month:
I love horror, so I thought I knew what I was getting myself into when I picked up this book. But it was more than I bargained for. I was ready for all the gore and violence, and that actually wasn't even the problem. The problem was that this book had no limits and it targeted two types of people with its gore and violence that I was just not okay with. Otherwise, I actually liked the story. If those three instances that bothered me about this book had been left out, I think I would've liked it. But alas, that was not the case.

Space Janitor is literally EVERYWHERE and I love it. I just finished this YA time travel series I've been reading the past few days, and I'm about to jump into the rest of Space Janitor so yeah...I can tell this is gonna be the ride of my life 😂 Idk who Vanti is, but I'm excited to find out 😂
ReplyDeleteIf Looks Could Kill sounds like the most random combo of characters ever but I guess it works? lol I'll have to check it out on GR
