May 2026 TBR

April was a rough month when it came to completing my tbr. But I honestly saw it coming. Lol.

I read all of these books in like the last week or so, that's how bad it was 😆 The good thing is that even though this tbr gave me a hard time, I actually ended up enjoying them all!

Pen for scale 😆

As for prompts, I read a total of 9 books in April, and ended up completing 13 prompts across all my reading challenges.

Rollover from April: A memoir

I didn't end up finishing this one in April, which is my fault for thinking I could read a memoir quickly 😭 It's okay though, because I am currently reading this so I will definitely finish it this month. And like I said in my last tbr post, I'm doing really well in all my reading challenges, so I'm not actually too worried if I don't read my entire tbr during the month.

Speaking of, I may have gone overboard with the prompts 😭 Like, I knew I was going to have one book roll over from the previous month, so tell me why I pulled 3 prompts and then decided to pull a 4th for "funsies"? 😭😭😆

And I regretted it immediately, because faeries? Not my thing 😭 Lol. So now I have the 1 prompt from last month, plus the 4 randomly picked prompts for this month, PLUS the 1 monthly prompt from the Go With the Flow reading challenge (though I am ahead on this challenge, so that's pretty good lol).

Fantasy with <300 pgs

This is one prompt I was dreading, because how often do you come across a fantasy that's under 300 pages? 😭 Anyway, this one was giving Wild is the Witch vibes, I don't know why, but I'm gonna go with it. And it's a book I've owned for a while.

"End" or "Eternal" in the title

This one was so difficult too 😭 I don't have very many books on my tbr with either of these words, but this is the one that sounded the most interesting. The only problem is that it's a dystopian. There's nothing wrong with dystopians, I like them! But I just haven't been in the mood for one in YEARS because it honestly feels like we are living in a dystopian world at the moment 🥴 But I'll give it a shot. And this is another book I have owned for a couple years, too.

Netgalley/Edelweiss book

This was the EASIEST prompt to pick for! I just got this ARC and I am SO freaking excited to read it!

Faeries are good

Faeries. There has been an oversaturation of fae in the last couple of years, and that is just a turn-off for me. So this is another prompt I was worried about. But I have this book on my tbr and it sounds fun! It's a sort of fairy tale retelling where Prince Charming is a scamming asshole and princesses take revenge or something. And there's some sort of heist? I do love a heist. Lol. Idk but it sounds fun! So my hope is that because it's a fairy tale retelling, it will have a fairy godmother or two. If this one doesn't end up working, idk what I'm going to do 😭 So recommendations are welcome 😅

Protagonist is a male

This is another one that was pretty easy. Lol. I've had this book from the library for a while and it's gonna have to go back soon, so this is a good excuse to read it now! 😆

This list is not super inspiring tbh. And not only does it have to do with the prompts, but my mood is the problem, too. All of these books are on my tbr, so I want to read them... eventually. It's just that my mood still doesn't know what it wants. Lol. But we'll see how it goes. I'm not too stressed about it since I can just rollover the unread books to next month. That being said, I need to start taking it easy with how many prompts I pick going forward. These are getting tough! 😅

Let me know if you've read any of these books or what is on your TBR list for the month! 😊
