Synopsis:
Kate Winters has won immortality. But if she wants a life with Henry in the Underworld, she'll have to fight for it.
Becoming immortal wasn't supposed to be the easy part. Though Kate is about to be crowned Queen of the Underworld, she's as isolated as ever. And despite her growing love for Henry, ruler of the Underworld, he's becoming ever more distant and secretive. Then, in the midst of Kate's coronation, Henry is abducted by the only being powerful enough to kill him: the King of the Titans. As the other gods prepare for a war that could end them all, it is up to Kate to save Henry from the depths of Tartarus. But in order to navigate the endless caverns of the Underworld, Kate must enlist the help of the one person who is the greatest threat to her future. Henry's first wife, Persephone.
I LOVED THIS BOOK! It was so awesome! And the ending was incredibly shocking!
I really like Kate, she is such a strong character...I cant wait to see how she deals in the next book. And then there's Henry...oh Henry. He really infuriated me in this book when he was around Kate...I just felt like smacking him upside the head! But when Henry and Kate were finally together...*swoons* Oh my! He was such a sweetheart! Henry AKA Hades has officially become one of my favorite Greek gods, whoo!
I still think Hera AKA Calliope is crazy. This is sooo not like her...err, no, actually this vengeful stuff is like her. What I mean is that she would NEVER leave Zeus for Hades, NEVER! She is the goddess of freakin' marriage, for crying out loud! Leaving Zeus goes against everything she stands for! Just no -_- I mean, I could expect it from anyone else, like Aphrodite. But Hera? She has never cheated on Zeus, never had a child that wasn't with Zeus (unless you count Hephaestus...some say he was the fatherless son of Hera), unlike many other gods. Although, I have to admit, it does make for an interesting story ;) I really can't deny that it was pretty fantastic.
The book had lots of emotion and, as I said already, the story was super interesting and entertaining (I do love my mythology ;)). It definitely held my attention all the way through. I seriously could not put it down until I got to the end...and once I was at the end I WANTED MORE! I still can't believe that happened...Henry and Kate...Ava...Calliope...
I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book! Meanwhile I'll read The Goddess Legacy ;)
Have you read this book? If so, what did you think about it? If not, what do you think? Does it sound like something you might want to read? Leave me a comment! :)
