Synopsis:
There's a hot guy in Susannah Simon's bedroom. Too bad he's a ghost.
Suze is a mediator - a liaison between the living and the dead. In other words, she sees dead people. And they won't leave her alone until she helps them resolve their unfinished business with the living. But Jesse, the hot ghost haunting her bedroom, doesn't seem to need her help. Which is a relief, because Suze has just moved to sunny California and plans to start fresh, with trips to the mall instead of the cemetery, and surfing instead of spectral visitations.
But the very first day at her new school, Suze realizes it's not that easy. There's a ghost with revenge on her mind... and Suze happens to be in the way.
After her mother remarries, Suze moves to California with 3 new stepbrothers and a stepdad. All is going great, until Suze arrives at her new house and goes up to her new room only to realizes a ghost already occupies it. An attractive ghost...
But he’s not the only ghost Suze encounters. Turns out there’s a homicidal ghost at school trying to kill said ghost’s former boyfriend. Not that Suze is going to let that happen to the cutie Bryce. Nope, not on her watch. She is a mediator after all.
Okay, look. Shadowland didn’t have the most original plot. But I don’t even care ‘cause this was just so much fun! I always love a good Ghost Whisperer-esque type of book. I just love them! I loved Suze too! She was so sassy and witty, but smart at the same time!
I really liked the supporting characters, too. Her stepbrothers were so much fun! Bickering siblings are always entertaining... to read about. ‘Cause when you live with a pair of ‘em...
I loved her relationship with them! I really hope to see more of that in the rest of the series! And the new friends she made were great, too.
Overall, I really liked this book! It was light-hearted and fast-paced with great humor, and just so much fun with a lot of fun characters! I am very excited to read the rest of the series!
