Sunday Post #471: Bookish Holiday

Welcome to The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer, where I talk about what is going on in life and the blog, and show you all the bookish things I got that week!

What I've been doing:

Another stressful week of work, but what else is new 🫠 Luckily, this week I only work half a shift on Monday, one full shift on Tuesday, and then I'm off to Portland!! SO excited! The main reason why we chose Portland for our mini vacation is because of Powell's, which is the largest indie bookstore in the world! We went last year and we loved it! It was three floors of nothing but books 😍 We will be doing other things, but that's gonna be the highlight of our trip.

What I've been watching:

This week I finally started Countdown, and the only reason why I've been wanting to watch it is because it's Jensen Ackles 😆 I love him! And while the show is okay, I absolutely love that his character in this is SO Dean Winchester-coded 😂 Tbh, I feel like he played Dean for so long that he absorbed some of his traits 😂

I also went back to watching House and Bones. I also need to get back to Criminal Minds. I don't remember where I left off on that, but I wanted to catch up on Evolution too.

What I've been listening to:

"I wrote this song about being on your last legs, your final hurrah. At least it feels that way. You feel like all roads led here, and it's the last one. But i'm here to tell you, it's most definitely not. It's so far from the truth. We put one foot in front of the other, and keep going. Yeah, it's painful, it's hard, it's heartbreaking, it makes you want to just STOP.......but, what else are we to do? This song took 70 hours to make, so I hope you enjoy it. I love you, and please please, let's keep going ok? :)" -Unlike Pluto

What I've been playing:

This week on the Very Veggie challenge, my squash gen is crushing school! Also, his mom came to visit him in his new apartment 🥹

Also, I don't think I introduced her before, but he started seeing an old friend, Jena Kim-Lewis of the Willow Creek townie family, and they really hit it off!

This machine below is the research computer where you can contribute knowledge 😂 I had forgotten that you can actually get money for doing this! However, if you do it too much, you can die, so 😂

Oh, the Easter Bunny called my Sim to tell him that he and Jena make a great pair... the fact that you can only see one of its eyeballs 😂

Also, my sim needed to go to some hobby classes for his aspiration, so I thought that it would be perfect for him to go to his great-grandmother's small business! The very first generation of the challenge, the broccoli generation, had a small business with a bunch of creative skills. So he went there on a date with Jena, and he saw his mom there too! She's an elder now 😭 Coming back home, he finds out that Jena is pregnant with his kid, and he asks her to marry him!

One thing that will be interesting with this gen is that he has the Hates Children trait sooo 😬 Because of that, I didn't have them try for baby because he would never, so using a mod, I increased the risky woohoo setting so we could get an accident baby 😂 The legacy has to continue somehow 😂

But anyway, moving on! I gave Jena a makeover and Calabastian finally graduated from university!

And then the baby was born! I love it when the partners of the laboring sim go into pre-parental panic or whatever it's called 😂

Also, I cannot get over what a nice view they have of the city 😍

Omg and my Carrot gen's last horse Cupcake died 😭 It's always so sad. Oh, and the arcade I built last week, I put it in this save and had my sim visit it. And for some reason, a kid showed up and started doing his homework on the bar 🤣

And here is the baby aged up into an infant (all newborns basically look the same, so I don't even bother to take pictures lol). His name is Chip because the next generation is the potato generation 😆

This week I hopped around a couple of different saves. Because I finally built my super sim her new house, I went and played in that save for a bit! One of the first things that happened was that her boyfriend asked her to marry her... which I think he's done before and I had said no 🤣 Listen, they will get together... eventually, but she's got a lot of super sim things to do still!

It's okay, they'll just have a long engagement. He's an immortal vampire so he won't mind 😆 (He also asked to move in... again. I said no to that one lol).

Anyway, she started running her small business and it kept storming out and her customers AND employees kept getting struck by lightning 😭🤣

And then some elder had the audacity to die during one of her hobby classes 😭😆 It's been pretty eventful around here. Lol.

Moving on once again! We are getting a new rewards event next week and I am preparing the save I use for that. Mostly by aging up the kid into a child, because we finally got confirmation that not only will the event be more child-centered, but the new pack will be too! So here is baby Daisy aging up from an infant to a toddler...

And then into a child! This first auto-generated outfit nearly took me out 🤣 But I gave her a bit of a makeover and she is so freaking cute! I love her!

And I'm excited for the new event! I believe it starts on Tuesday, so I will be able to do it before I leave for my trip... hopefully. I tend to pack last-minute 😅

And last, Daisy's grandfather on her mother's side died 😢 I don't even know if she met him. I've been working her hard! I got her to max out ALL of her toddler skills, which wasn't easy because I'm playing this save on short life span.

Nail art of the week:

A sparkly flash reactive black polish for my trip 🖤
