Synopsis:

Ghost removal specialist Ellie Jordan must face a dangerous, shape-shifting entity that she and Calvin have encountered once before, with tragic results. The spirit has the power to reach into the minds of living and feed on their fears, taking the shape of their worst nightmares, and it has awoken in search of new victims.

Now Ellie must try to succeed where she and her mentor failed before, and try to defeat the twisted and powerful old ghost before it can claim another soul for its collection.

WARNING: Creepy pictures ahead!

With each book that comes out, this series just keeps getting better and better! This book was one of the best, if not the best, horror book I have ever read!

This is gonna give me nightmares...
Where to start with this creepily amazing book... Well, this case that Ellie and Stacey work on in this book is actually quite... Special. You see, a couple months ago, back when Stacey wasn't part of the team yet, Ellie and her boss Calvin tried to trap a particularly malicious ghost only to fail horribly. But now it's time for round two, and Ellie is determined to finally get rid of this dangerous monster that's been feeding off the fear of the residents in the building, particularly the children. It was not easy, and this thing was totally terrifying! I mean, it shifts into your worst fear and uses that against you!

It takes a lot for a book to really scare me, and this one did more than a fantastic job! The descriptions were just so vivid and freaky and I could just see this thing clearly in my head! I also read this at night, so that might have had some influence, lol.

NO!
As a kid, I was never really afraid of the dark or the "monsters" under the bed or in the closet, but this book totally made me reconsider what may be lurking in the shadows. (Also mirrors! Gah! So creepy!) That night when I went to sleep I was totally wound up and psyching myself out, paranoid something was going to grab my ankle... something that never happens when I read a horror book. But that's what made this book so amazing! Some people may not like getting scared like this, but this is exactly the reason why I love horror! It is so rare for a book to scare me like this one did! Of course, it wasn't nightmare-inducing... At least not for me. (Muahahaha! Enjoy the pictures! ;D)

I loved that we got to know Ellie and the other characters more in depth in this book. It was very satisfying. And the new characters we meet... Don't even get me started on the hot fireman! While I admit that I sort of shipped Ellie and the psychic Jacob, I totally ship Ellie and Michael now! He is so protective and so, so sweet! I really loved him!

The story itself was fantastic, as well! I wont go into too many details because spoilers, but... It was just crazy! Meet Epic Plot Twist, big brother of Plot Twist. Right when you think one thing happened, BAM! It was actually something else. The story was just well thought out and very well written. I really have no complaints about this book. But I must have the next book soon! I can't wait to read it!

Have you read this book? If so, what did you think about it? If not, what do you think? Does it sound like something you might want to read? Leave me a link to your review or comment below! :)

  1. This sounds great. I can scare a bit easily, but I've been getting more into thrillers and scary books. I also hear great things about the author.
