I always look forward to new books in the Ellie Jordan series—it's one of my favorites! In this installment of the series, you have a classic haunted house case, except this house has been converted into a retirement home. I love a good haunted house story, so I really enjoyed this one!

Another Ellie Jordan novel in the bag! And I, of course, enjoyed it 😉 Lol. In this book, Ellie and Stacey investigate a very interesting case. We have a classic haunted house case, yes, but the house itself was very interesting! It had all this cabinetry built in, secret passages, and all these little nooks and crannies kids (and spooks!) could hide in. And then Jack himself... what a creep! The things he did... yikes! His story was very interesting though. Messed up, but interesting. I always like the part where the girls do research because it always brings up some interesting things. And this was no different! Learning about the legend of Jack and the history of the town was very fascinating! And at one point we even got a bit of action in the middle of research, so that was fun. Lol.

Right off the bat, this case was super sketchy. Ellie and Stacy are given very little detail... They didn't even know who hired them! So weird! But off they go to meet their client on a deserted island. This island was very... Off. There was a wall around it that was very reminiscent of Attack on Titan, so you know things can't possibly be good here. Lol. There's a very impressive mansion there, and a couple of other smaller buildings and cottages that were meant for "the help" back in the day, and spooky things are just happening everywhere. Hence why Ellie and Stacey were called in.

I am always so happy when a new Ellie Jordan book comes out—it’s one of my favorite series! In this case, Ellie and Stacey are heading to a haunted drive-in theater! I loved the setting! Especially for nowadays when drive-ins are big again, for obvious reasons. Unfortunately, my town had one but they sold it a long time ago and was turned into a storage place. I pass it every single day on my way home, and it just makes me sad to see that it’s not a functioning drive-in anymore 😩 But I’m glad I got to experience it vicariously through this book. Lol. Albeit it was a bit more spooky than your typical drive-in. Lol. Which I loved! The owners just bought the place and they’re fixing it up to reopen it and it honestly sounds great!

I missed Ellie and Stacey and their fun bickering! 😂 And things get even more fun once Jacob arrives! The quips between the characters is one of my favorite things about this series! And just the characters in general! I love Jacob and Ellie and Stacey who is just really sassy and bubbly! I love her!

It’s almost Christmas but Ellie decides to take the case because there’s children involved and she’s worried about their safety. That’s the kind of amazing person she is.

In this installment of the series, Ellie and the team have taken a case at a lighthouse. A huge movie star just moved in after having built a mansion on the property, and things started to go bump in the night. Aside from the case, Ellie is still looking for Anton after what he did to Michael, and there is also a creepy magician ghost stalking a theater that Ellie, Stacey, and Jacob are looking to take care of.

Lullaby starts off immediately after the events of the previous book, Maze of Souls, with Michael hurt and in the hospital. This after their run-in with Anton, the pyromaniac ghost that killed Ellie’s family. But not only is Ellie dealing with this awful tragedy, she is also dealing with her new bosses, Paranormal Solutions Inc. They are now moving in after Calvin sold his company to them. It’s very upsetting, especially because their methods are shady as f*ck. They capture ghosts then they either experiment on them or try to tame them! Just... so much NO! What is wrong with them?! But Ellie gets it:

I love a good ghost hunt, and Maze of Souls was as great as the previous books in the series! I really loved the setting and atmosphere of this one. I just love Halloween, okay? Lol. It’s one of the aspects that made this book awesome!

Ellie Jordan's next job takes her to this neighborhood that was abandoned in the middle of building due to insufficient funds. Now, there are just a couple of people here and there, living in some of the complete houses. But it's all for the best, I suppose, seeing as how it turns out that the whole place is pretty much haunted--an abandoned railroad nearby, particularly.
