I have been feeling a lot better mental health-wise, and you can tell! My reading is up, I'm actually enjoying my books, and I even started writing and posting reviews again! It's been a rough year, but I am trying to let go of things I can't control. There's really no use winding myself up about such things. So I'm just living life and finding things to do that I enjoy. And it also helps that I switched birth control to one that hasn't been giving me completely awful side effects. Lol.
All that being said, this month I read 7 books, which is a total of 2331 pages (about 200 pages MORE than last month!)
- 6 were full-length novels, and 1 manga
- I started 1 series and finished none 😅
- 4 were part of a series, and 3 were standalones
- All 7 were finished copies
- 5 were physical books, and 2 were ebooks
- 4 were 5-star reads (!!!), 1 was 4.5, 1 was 4 stars, and 1 was a 3-star read
- 5 were traditionally published, and 2 were indie published
- 4 were by authors I've previously read, and 3 were new to me
- 6 were adult books, and 1 was YA
- 6 were fiction, and 1 was non-fiction
- 1 was sci-fi, 1 action, 1 high fantasy, 2 horror, 1 self-help, and 1 cozy mystery
Books read this month:
I ended October and started November with a readathon. During that readathon, I read The Kraken of Cape Madre, and I fell in love 😍 At the time, I didn't know it was gonna be a sign of good things to come 😆 Anyway, I love this series. It's SO fun! I read the first two books this month, and next month I'm hoping to read a couple more in the series.
I also read a non-fiction book with a bunch of anti-affirmations, and it was honestly so soothing. Lol. It was great!
I also read another Andy Weir book. And while I didn't love Artemis as much as Project Hail Mary, it was still a pretty fun, solid read.
And then I fell down the Cosmere rabbit hole once more, and honestly, I'm happy to be here 😆 The Well of Ascension was SO freaking good! The ending was insane and I had to start the next book immediately after. I'm actually reading the sequel (The Hero of Ages) right now, and I am still having the time of my life. Lol.
This probably wasn't a good idea, but I read The Village Library Demon-Hunting Society at the same time as The Hero of Ages, and let me just say, the latter is a masterpiece compared to the former 😅 I just didn't love it. Idk if cozy mysteries are just a hit-or-miss for me, or if it's actually the book. You see how it mentions demons? Yeah, that was backburner stuff. It was disappointing.
However, I ended the month with reading another solid volume of Spy x Family, so it's all good. Lol.
Favorite book(s) of the month:
I refuse to pick between my favorites. I refuse! It's been so long since I really loved a book, and this month I read not one, but THREE amazing books, so I'm not picking between them 😆
Least favorite book of the month:
This book wasn't bad, but it was a case where I liked the premise more than the execution.

Girl, 4 5-STAR READS!! 😍👏🎉 Best way to end the year honestly.
ReplyDeleteThe Cosmere freaks me out. I'm still to scared to start it because there are so many books and so many different theories on where to start 😭 Until I get enough courage (and time because them books be quite long 😂) I'll just live through your reviews of his books 😂
