Synopsis:

Trying to work things out with Nash—her maybe boyfriend—is hard enough for Kaylee Cavanaugh. She can't just pretend nothing happened. But "complicated" doesn't even begin to describe their relationship when his ex-girlfriend transfers to their school, determined to take Nash back.

See, Sabine isn't just an ordinary girl. She's a mara, the living personification of a nightmare. She can read people's fears—and craft them into nightmares while her victims sleep. Feeding from human fear is how she survives.

And Sabine isn't above scaring Kaylee and the entire school to death to get whatever—and whoever—she wants.

My rating: ★★★★★

This book was amazing!! I couldn't stop reading it! Poor Kaylee was many problems to figure out, and it makes me wonder if she’ll ever get her “happily ever after.”

So we all know (unless you haven’t read My Soul to Keep, which I recommend you do) that she and Nash have taken some time apart after Nash’s incident with Demon’s breath and Kaylee’s body possession by Avari. Kaylee still loves Nash, of course (and vice versa), but she doesn't wasn't to be with him again until she can fully trust him once more. I can totally understand that. Trust isn't something you just give away, it has to be earned.

But the arrival of Nash’s ex-girlfriend (Sabine) wont make it any easier for Kaylee. Did I mention Sabine is a Nightmare? Yes, she’s is horrible (in my opinion…I don’t like her at all -_-) but that’s not exactly what I mean. she is literally a Nightmare!!! Correct term: a mara. Meaning that she feeds of the fear of other people through their nightmares. Since her arrival, Sabine practically declared war to Kaylee. Sabine was back and she wanted Nash to herself.

But Sabine is not the only thing Kaylee has to deal with (did I mention that I dislike Sabine very much? Yes? Oh, okay), Avari is back (more like he never left). *Cue suspenseful music* And he’s brought a friend. Gosh, this Avari guy is really starting to get under my skin (well, not literally, even though he can do that *shivers*). Avari still wants Kaylee’s soul and he will do whatever it takes to get it.

But Kaylee is not the giving-up type of girl. And thats why she is one of my favorite heroines! She is strong and there is no one who can change her mind about what she wants. Like keeping her soul (duh!) But not only that, she wont give up Nash. As much as it hurts her that Nash lied to her, she still loves him. All she needs is a little time to mend. Not that Sabine is interested in helping Kaylee out. But Kaylee is strong-willed and doesn't’t let Sabine get her way. Sabine or Tod, for that matter.

Tod is my all time favorite character in this series. But in this book…there was something wrong with him. I mean, he goes and tells Kaylee to just give Nash up to Sabine?!?! WTF Tod?!?! I love you and all, but what was going on in the pretty little blond head of yours!?! Something tells me that he is developing feeling for Kaylee. And I’m not sure how I feel about this. Nash and Kaylee are supposed to be together!!! Aren't they?

All this suspenseful Kaylee-Nash-and-possibly-Tod deal is making me anxious!! I cannot wait for If I die! There are so many things I want answered. And I’ve been wondering, are we going to hear about Lydia (the girl who helped Kaylee in My Soul to Lose)?

P.S: Its very helpful if you read Reaper. You’ll know what they’re talking about when Tod mentions his death.

Have you read this book? If so, what did you think about it? If not, what do you think? Does it sound like something you might want to read? Leave me a comment! :)
