Synopsis:
Don't Close Your Eyes.
Sophie Cavanaugh is not going to let her freak of a cousin's strange psychiatric condition ruin high school for them both. Not after all the work she's put into cultivating the right look, and friends, and reputation. But then, Sophie sees something so frightening she lets out a blood-curdling scream--and finds herself stuck in a bizarre parallel world where nothing is safe and deadly creatures lurk just out of sight, waiting for her to close her eyes and sleep...forever.
Could this world be real? Or does insanity run in the family...?
I seriously loved this novella! I don't know how many times I've said it before, but Rachel is just AMAZING! She makes me feel sympathetic even toward the characters I don't like! Yes, I'm talking about Sophie.
This novella was awesome...it was very suspenseful, funny, and more than a bit interesting. I say this because after reading this, I kinda wonder if perhaps Sophie has some hidden banshee powers. It was really weird that she was able to cross over into the Netherworld without the help of anyone. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?
Oh and I really liked the new guy, Luca. I hope we to find out more about Sophie and Luca in the two remaining novels of the Soul Screamers series!
Have you read this book? If so, what did you think about it? If not, what do you think? Does it sound like something you might want to read? Leave me a comment! :)
Hey, Lili, this is your cousin/niece (?) Clay, sent here on Kendra's recommendation. I didn't know you had a book blog! I had one for a while on the Wenatchee World and they are hard to maintain. I'm hoping that now that I'm headed to library school I can find more time to read and more genres to explore. We'll have to talk books and writing sometime!
ReplyDeleteHi!
