First of all, I was SUPER excited to read this one cause omg the cover is gorgeous! I ADORE Renji! He is my absolute favorite! And while I enjoyed the volume overall, there was a minimum amount of Renji in this book and I was totally not okay with that! 😩 You put Renji on the cover and I’m gonna expect a volume dedicated to him, but nooOOOooo 😭

But anyway, in this volume we got to see interesting revelations regarding some Bankai. Urahara’s was very cool to see! It has such an interesting ability! And I just love Urahara in general—he is really funny and sassy, but I particularly love how smart he is and how he is always prepared for everything.

While I didn’t get as much Renji as I wanted in this volume, we got to see quite a bit of Toshiro which made me extremely happy! 🖤

It was always implied that when all the ice flowers fall, that would be it for Toshiro’s Bankai (like a battery running out). But no! It’s actually when his full bankai is complete! And then he gets really hot... Like, really...

😍 Anyway, I had already thought he and his sword were pretty badass. I mean, he’s pretty young compared to the other captains, but he is strong as fuck! And now with this? Holy hell, It was incredible! Toshiro actually teams up with Byakuya to take on a bad guy and it was awesome! They have some banter, and that was really fun too. It was just really cool to see these two working together since they are two of my favorite captains 🖤

Oh and Kenpachi is also back! Yay! And we finally figure out where Yachiru has been this whole time! I’m not gonna lie, it’s been a while since I read this, but I still feel pretty torn about this.

It turns out that Yachiru was Kenpachi’s Zanpakuto/Bankai this whole time?? It’s really cool, but it’s also sad because we wont get anymore Yachiru and I loved her. It’s really funny (and quite ironic) that the cutest of the reapers is the scariest of the reapers Zanpakuto/Bankai. Lol. Anyway, this whole thing is really confusing because earlier in the arc we finally got to see HER sword and Bankai, but she herself IS a sword/bankai? Idk, man 😵 Lol.

But I really loved this volume overall! We got to spend some time with some of my favorite characters and we got to see some really cool, new powers from the reapers!
