Synopsis: Lynn Painter’s Better Than the Movies collides with Betting on You when, after meeting the annoyingly cute Bailey on his flight, Charlie gets picked at the airport up by his cousin, Wes, who introduces him to his annoyingly cute neighbor, Liz.

My rating: ★★★★☆

There's just something about a girl that hates your guts.

Excuse me, but you’re telling me that Wes and Charlie are cousins??

What in the world?! How is this new information for me? And how is it that this family not only gave us one but TWO absolutely swoon-worthy guys? 😆

Okay, with that out of the way, I loved this! It was so much fun! I was very excited when I found out about this novella because it is a crossover between two of Lynn Painter’s books, Better Than The Movies and Betting on You. It was this sort of prequel situation that took place years before either book. If you’ve read Betting on You, we actually got a couple of scenes on the plane/airport where Charlie and Bailey first met at the beginning of that book. That was such a nice surprise! It almost felt like an extended scene of that.

We got one chapter from each of the protagonists of the books, and I really liked the way it changed from one POV to another because the transition was smooth and the story just flowed so well. We got to see their inner thoughts: how Bailey intrigued Charlie, the way Wes loved to mess with Liz, how Liz thought Charlie was hot and Wes totally noticed and was kinda jealous 😆 Though at this point he of course would never let Liz know that. It was just so freaking cute! It was an amazing crossover! I highly recommend it, especially if you’re a fan of Lynn Painter’s books and these characters!

Have you read this book? If so, what did you think about it? If not, what do you think? Does it sound like something you might want to read? Leave me a link to your review or comment below! 😊
