This was a better week than the last... ish. I mean, the world is still on fire and I don't know anything about my patient yet, but aside from that, it was better. We had some fun Sims 4 news, I got employee of the month at work...
And more importantly, we got a new bookstore in my town!! The way I was SO excited! We actually haven't had a bookstore in YEARS. Well, we do have a used bookstore, but that's just not the same, you know? So I was very happy that we finally got one after so long. (I did buy some books, you'll see below 👀)
Oh, and a while back I mentioned something frustrating that happened that I never elaborated on, but that was only because I was trying to communicate with people and trying to get details but it was DIFFICULT trying to get help from their customer service. Here's what happened: I crosspost my reviews on Amazon, right? Well, one random day in September I get this email from them, completely out of the blue, saying that I violated community guidelines with something in one of my reviews so then my reviewing privileges were basically revoked and ALL of my reviews were removed. Now, what was that something and what review was it? Your guess is as good as mine! So I email Amazon trying to figure out what the heck was going on and it was so difficult to get a hold of somebody. And when somebody did get back to me they always gave me a non-answers and they told me things I already knew. It was SO frustrating. So I keep emailing them consistently until about November, but at this point, I am exhausted of trying to get some explanation and a way to fix it, so I just stop. I stop communicating, I stop checking my account, I stop buying things from Amazon. Which, that last part, is something I've been contemplating for a while now because let's face it, Amazon is not a great company. They kinda suck. BUT I love my Kindle for reading and it IS a great place for authors to sell their books. So I was still kinda torn.
Anyway, I was on Amazon two days ago contemplating buying the All Shall Mourn ebook, when just for funsies I check to see if I can review things and OMG I can! I check my account and all of my reviews are back! I have NO clue when this happened! I haven't heard from Amazon since like November or something, back when they were still being sketchy about everything. I didn't even get an email saying that they fixed my account! To this day I STILL don't know what it was that "violated" their guidelines!! Like, I review books. I don't what in those reviews could possibly violate guidelines. It was just such a frustrating experience and I honestly kinda hate them a little more for that. It just left a terrible taste in my mouth. Like I said, at this point I had already given up. I almost don't want to return to reviewing on there. And the only reason I'm even contemplating actually going back is because leaving reviews on Amazon helps authors. Sigh.
I'm already on season 6 of Criminal Minds... I don't want to talk about how quickly I got here 😅😂 In my defense, I haven't been working and I don't like a quiet house, so while I don't sit and actively watch the show, I do seem to always have it on in the background while doing other things these days. Lol. (It's currently on now as I write this post 😆 Just started episode 2 of season 6. Lol.)

Early this week I made this Sim just for fun. I have no gameplay in mind for her, but there was some custom content I wanted to try out. (Also, this was my second attempt at making her because the first time, when I was almost done, my computer crashed and nothing was saved because you can't save while in CAS ðŸ˜)
Specifically, it was these frosted lashes I've had for a while. I think she turned out really pretty! I love her! And yes, she is basically all CC from head to toe 😂
Moving onto actual gameplay, I played some more of my save file where I do all the Rewards Events. Here is one of my Sims spending some time with her crush... who only days later ended up rejecting her 😠It's fine. She aged up to an adult not too long after that, moved on and...
Started romancing her boss, the Grim Reaper! 😆 This was my storyline for her this whole time. Lol. She is currently pregnant with his baby!
And switching over to my Holiday family in that same save file, my main Sim aged up, and not too long after that she and her husband autonomously went to woohoo in the hot tub and then proceeded to complain about being outside in a blizzard 🙄😂 Girl, you guys did this to yourselves. Lol.
And here are my two households hanging out. One of the girls from the other household, the Reaper one, ended up being Prom Royalty. Lol.
And I also played a little bit of my Super Sim save file. Here is my Super Sim and her mom playing a fun game of Don't Wake the Llama. Lol. And then the second pic below, I was looking for the mom, I had asked her to do something and she wasn't showing up so I go and look for her and I see that she was outside, completely wiped out in the snow 😂😂
AND THEN she went on a date with her partner and they were being all romantic and stuff when suddenly Agnes Crumblebottom shows up and smacks the hell out of my sim with her purse! 😂 I have never been Crumblebottomed before, so this was fun for me. Lol. (For context, this NPC hates it when other sims are being all lovey dovey in front of her, so she smacks them with her purse. While my sim was on her date I didn't even realize this NPC was on this lot, so imagine my surprise when I see what I thought was a random Sim come up to my Sim and starts beating the crap out of her with her purse 😂😂 And she did it THREE separate times! 😂 Oh, I loved it. Lol)
Oh, and I did end up taking some screenshots of the penthouse I built. At this point, it has changed a bit as my Super Sim grows up and her needs change, but it's pretty much the same.
Here is the main living room and gym.
And across from the gym we have this massive library with some secret bookcase doors!
And behind those secret is this Spellcaster space for my sim to do her magic and potions.
And then we have the kitchen and and a cozy office.
The dining room and the upstairs.
The upstairs living room and the mom's bedroom (where she was sleeping at the time and I felt kinda weird taking the screenshot. Lol.)
And last we have my Super Sim's super pink bedroom, and an extra bedroom that I'm not using at the moment.
And I didn't even show everything. Lol. I don't show the bathrooms or the laundry room because those are boring. Lol.
These nail polishes are from the Holo Taco x David's Tea collection and they are SO pretty and sparkly! I love them!

On Friday I had a pap smear, so when I went to the bookstore later that morning for the grand opening, I allowed myself to buy two books, as a little treat to myself 😆 It's such a cute shop! It's a bookstore/flower shop combo. The flower portion of the store wasn't set up yet, but I'm excited to see what it looks like once it's done! And I also got this cute bookmark where on the back you can write the titles of your favorite books read USING that bookmark! I don't know why, but I love that so much! Lol.
Also, that same day, I hopped on the Barnes & Noble website because they had a sale and I ended up buying FOUR books 🙈 They had a SALE, okay? 😆 Lol. Anyway, 3 of them were preorders so they won't be here for a while, but one of them should be here this coming week!
I was hoping the bookstore would have this book in stock, but they unfortunately did not. I ended up getting it from Amazon 😒 using a gift card I had.
And from the library, I grabbed some more manga! I also put a couple other books on hold but I probably won't get those for a while.
Yeah, I would stop using Amazon if I could, but it's hard when other places don't have things or are so much more expensive. I know that is what Amazon does to kill other retailers though. I know that happened to me on a review on Amazon one time, but I never heard why, and I don't think they took down my other reviews, it just seemed to work okay right away after I tried to find out why. Yay for a new bookstore! There is an indie bookstore near me that also has plants, it's called Read and Rooted I think? I love all your Sims stuff as always! Hope you have a good week!

Yes! Exactly what you said! I hate that Amazon purposefully tries to kill other retailers, especially small businesses. But also, I can't deny that it is just such a convenient place to buy things. Especially if you have a kindle.
DeleteAnd yes! I am very excited about our new bookstore! Read and Rooted is such a cute name! Ours is called Fable but they're also calling it Books and Blooms (or maybe it's a tagline idk lol) which I thought was super cute!
