Another week has blurred by. What'd I do? Idk, not much. Lol. I did finally get some news on my patient and she seems to be doing better! I mean, she's still in the hospital but at least she's out of the ICU now. I also went to meet a potential new patient, but we will see if that ends up panning out this week.
Aside from that, late this week I found out that Amazon is ending the feature that allows you to manually download your books which is sketchy AF! I was looking through Amazon and I noticed this:
Has this wording always been there? This is basically telling you that you own a license to read the book, but you don't technically OWN the book. So if Amazon decided to pull the book for whatever reason, guess what? You won't have access to it anymore because they pulled that license and you therefore don't have that license to read the book anymore. It's WILD!! If I buy an ebook, that book is MINE. This, however, is not new. We have never owned our ebooks, but now that Amazon is removing the option to download books in this way, I finally went and downloaded all 250+ ebooks I had onto my laptop. This way I own all of my ebooks no matter what sketchy thing Amazon decides to do next. This is the message that pops up when you go and do that:
And I am going to redirect you to the YouTube video I saw regarding this because she will explain it MUCH better than I have. After you inform yourself on the situation, I HIGHLY recommend you go and back up your books as well (if owning your ebooks is important to you)! (I also have Calibre so that I can remove the DRM and convert the book files if needed if I ever decide to switch from Kindle, which at this point, I probably will. Not anytime soon, I don't think. But next time I need a new e-reader, I don't think I'm going to be buying another Kindle 👀 And I also don't think I'll be buying more Kindle books either. If I'm gonna buy an ebook it'll probably be from Kobo because after doing some research and experimenting, I found that you can download books from there, convert the file, and put them on your Kindle fairly easily, so. But also I use my library A LOT so I should be good lol).
Still watching these two shows. Lol. I have made my way through Criminal Minds SO fast 😆 Unfortunately, this is the season with Maeve, who I actually don't like 🙈 Well, it's more that I don't like the situation and that Spencer was hurt. I hate it when he is hurt ðŸ˜
As for House... I'm starting to wonder if I'm actually liking this show... even though I'm 3 seasons in at this point 😂 I think I do like it, but my issue with it is that it is a product of its time (aka 2004 lol) and it SHOWS. The racism, bigotry, sexism... all the -isms. Lol. It's not flat-out racist and sexist, thank god, but it's little comments that are meant to be jokes and I just don't find them funny because I am watching this show through 2025 lenses and those types of jokes are just cringy and not tasteful at all nowadays. Also, the characters are a hot mess and can be very unlikeable... but I think that's why I can't stop watching the show: because it's like a train wreck you can't look away from 😂
Moving onto more pleasant things lol, my Super Sim aged up into a teen! And got a job at a cafe... but the fact that a TEENAGER had to learn mixology for said job had me cackling 😂 So here she is making drinks. Lol.
And because I did the rebirth thing with her, once she aged up to a teen, I was able to do a bunch of rebirth interactions with her family!
It's very fun!
Unfortunately for her, her first couple of days as a teen were not that great. In the first screenshot below, she is being caught skipping class ACCIDENTALLY by the principal. I didn't do it on purpose, I swear 😠She was just eating her lunch really slow. But it ended up working out because doing detention is a milestone I needed for one of her aspirations. Lol.
And then in the second screenshot above, that's her passing out of exhaustion on her first Prom 😠That one WAS on me. I miscalculated and sent her to prom anyway 😂 And below, that's her practicing cheerleading. She's clearly not good at it 🤣
She has had a couple of crushed and gone on some dates, so at least that was nice. Lol.
And then they had a nice pool party... that ended with the waffle maker getting set on fire 😂 The way everyone is running around panicking 🤣
Moving onto my Legacy Challenge with the three siblings who are trying to buy a bakery... they finally did! I don't think I took any screenshots of them actually running the bakery because it was very busy, but maybe next time. What I did get a screenshot of was the brother getting abducted by aliens 😂
And he LIKED it! 🤣 It was funny because immediately after he was dropped off he got struck by lightning, the poor guy 🤣🤣
Oh, and he was also abducted like THREE times. One of my goals for him in particular is that he was to have a baby with an alien, and when Sims are abducted they can get impregnated by them, but only if your sim is a male!! Well, like I said, my Sim was abducted three times and he was not pregnant any of those times, which made me sad. Lol. So what I did is I grabbed my Sim Venus, an alien from my Mystical Motherhood challenge, and dropped her into this save, and look!
I think they hit it off. Lol. So this was my second solution to this goal I have for him. Lol. I like having my Sims crossover between my save files. Like, for example, this Legacy save, the founder married my Super Sim's SON (from before she was reborn obviously lol)! I think It's fun. Lol.
And here are the two other siblings. All three of them have the Get to Work active careers, and on the side they ran a food stand selling baked goods, all to raise money to buy that bakery. Above you'll see the name of one of the customers was Skunk Flores and for some reason, I found that to be really funny. Lol. And the other screenshot is the other sister thriving at her job taking mugshots of criminals 😂
Aside from the Sims, I also played more of Preserve, but I didn't take any screenshots this time. It's a lot of the same, just different configurations of the habitats. Lol.

I very rarely buy e-books, most of what I have are freebies. So I guess I'm not worried really about the Amazon thing? I just hate paying for something I can't physically hold in my hands. I have just recently started buying full albums on iTunes for this very reason. I want to own a physical copy. Of course these days it is then a hassle to get it onto my laptop since they never seem to have DVD/CD players anymore as part of the laptop and I had to buy one to connect. I love all your Sims stuff as usual! Glad you hear your patient is out of ICU. I hope they continue to get better. Good luck with the new patient as well. Have a good week!
