Just another week of work... where I finally got some good news regarding my patient who's been hospitalized since January! Thankfully, she's to be discharged just over a week from now! Unfortunately, she's not gonna be at her usual baseline and that is just so heartbreaking. This illness really did a number on her. But that's why I'm there. I'm really looking forward to seeing her again because I've really missed this kid.
Aside from that, I got my blood drawn yesterday and my iron is still super low, yay! 🙃 I've been taking iron supplements for about 3 months now and they've barely helped. My ferritin number literally only went up by ONE whole number 😠I have a couple more appointments this coming week, so we will see what happens.
And today, for Mother's Day, we took my mom out for breakfast, and I just went to buy her some flowers and a gift, which is why this post is late. Lol. I'm actually writing this between coats of nail polish because I hadn't painted my nails yet either. Lol.
I'm still making my way through season 10 of Criminal Minds.

So I started a new legacy challenge 👀 I wasn't planning on it, but once I saw the rules I just had to! It's called the Very Veggie Legacy Challenge, and yes, it' meant to be silly. Lol. There's rules and color themes, and the the first generation is the broccoli generation, hence why my founder is very green. Lol.

This is a Sim I made a while ago. The only thing I really changed was her hair color because I'd originally given her purple hair, but her clothes were green and she had a bunch of plant tattoos, so it was perfect! The challenge starts as a Rags to Riches challenge, meaning your Sim starts in an empty lot with ZERO money. Up in the screenshot to the far right, that's her house. Just a square 😂 Some of the rules for this generation are that she needs to run a small business, max 3 creative skills, and max the wellness skill. And I decided to do the challenge because this first generation involved a lot of stuff that came with the new pack (small businesses, the tattoo skill, and the pottery skill), which I have but had not tried yet, so I thought this would be perfect.

So this small business she's running, she has to sell crafts, so I started with painting. One thing that made me laugh was that the customers were enjoying the atmosphere when her place looked like THAT ⬆️😂

But she made some really good money. Once she had a good amount of it, I built her a proper house and business. Below you'll see she has a shop for painting and a shop for pottery.

The new pack allows you to run classes and you actually make really good money that way too. I've just really been enjoying the gameplay from businesses and hobbies! And I really liked the pottery skill!

Once you are a high enough skill, you are able to repair a broken ceramic using the Japanese art of Kintsugi, which means you basically put it back together using gold, and it looks SO nice!

This week I've pretty much only been playing in this save file, so I've gotten a lot done, including finding her a partner (ignore Mei Prescott in the background being a creeper on their first date... and ignore the bride breaking her arms as she "hugs" her husband 😠Ah, glitches).

One other thing that this generation has to complete is the kitting aspiration, so when I found out this guy ALSO randomly had that aspiration, I knew they were meant to be. Look at how cute they are knitting together ðŸ˜

He's also a dog lover so I, of course, had to get them a dog. Lol. His name is Speckles 😆 I didn't name him, but I also didn't change the name when I adopted him because I thought it was fun. Lol.

Eventually, I finally had them have a kid, and of course she goes into labor in the middle of one of her classes ðŸ˜ðŸ˜‚

And I was so shocked to find out that they had freaking TWINS ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ Why does this always happen to me? ðŸ˜ðŸ˜‚

Anyway, they're pretty cute. The next generation is the eggplant generation and their color theme is obviously purple. Lol.

After she earned a bit more money, I made another addition to her small business for tattooing! This is another skill I've been excited to try. So far, I haven't been able to get people to actually get a tattoo (though to be fair, she also has painting and pottery going on... it's a lot. Lol), but she has been practicing it and teaching it to others.

But so far, I'm really enjoying this challenge

This is the nail polish I wore this last week. I'm currently painting them a very bright blue. It's neon season after all. Lol.

#417: What I Read While on Vacation |

Oh, today I also made a stop at our local bookshop and I finally got this book! Ah! I've been wanting it since our bookstore first got it in, but the first time it sold out super fast and I missed out. But I'm glad they got more copies!

Afterward, I stopped by the library because a bunch of my books finally came in! There's still a couple volumes missing, but I think these will keep me busy for a while. Lol.

Your nails are beautiful! The little Sims dog is adorable too. I just love reading and looking at all your fun with that game. Is that manga set one that would be good for my high schoolers? I'm always looking for new series to get in! Glad your patient got out of the hospital and it's so wonderful that you can be there for them. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Sakamoto Days is rated Teen+, so it IS appropriate for high school-aged kids. However, it's a series about an assassin, so it has violence and guns. I'm not sure what your school policy is on that sort of stuff since it's illustrated, but otherwise, I think it's perfectly fine for teens.
