2026 Mid-Year Check In: Reading Challenges

I was doing really great on my reading challenges... and then I got into a reading slump 😩 I think I'm still doing okay despite that, but I'm kinda afraid to look 😅

The challenge: Read 52 books in 2025.
Progress: 44/52 (85%). I purposefully make a low goal for this one. Lol.

The challenge: Read 52 books in 52 weeks.
Progress: ❌ So, um, I was doing GREAT on this one, and then the week that I wrote this post, that was the week that I missed reading a book 😭 So I have failed this one 😢

The challenge: To read one book that has a title starting with every letter of the alphabet.
Progress: 17/26 (65%). Doing great on this one, though!

The challenge: To read one book that has an author whose first name, middle, or last name starts with every letter of the alphabet.
Progress: 21/26 (81%). This one too!

The challenge: Read a book to fulfill each letter and its prompt.
Progress: 17/26 (65%). This one is a bit harder, but I'm still doing pretty good!

The challenge: To read books with covers every color of the rainbow.
Progress: 9/10 (90%). And this one is honestly way too easy. I may not do it next year 😅

The challenge: Read books you have owned before January 1, 2026.
Progress: 11/24 (46%). I lowered my goal for this challenge this year, and I'm actually not doing that bad! I'll take that 46%, thank you very much! Lol.

The challenge: Read 10 Netgalley/Edelweiss books.
Progress: 2/10 (20%). I always struggle with this one, though 🫣

The challenge: Finish/catch up on series.
Progress: 2/5 (40%). Not doing bad on this one, but also not doing great 😅 I'm sure I can finish 3 more series before the year is over. Hopefully. Lol.

The challenge: Complete 25 reading prompts.
Progress: 20/25 (80%). I'm almost done with this one! It has been so much fun!

The challenge: Complete 25 reading prompts.
Progress: 33/25 (132%) ✅ I was the most nervous about this one, but it ended up being the first one I finished 😂This challenge has just over 50 prompts, but I set my goal to 25, and I somehow finished real fast. Lol.

The challenge: To read 12 different books that fit each of the 12 prompts in order.
Progress: 5/12 (41%). I have fallen 1 book behind, but overall I'm doing pretty good on this one!

The challenge: Enter and complete 6-10 reading challenges.
Progress: 1/1-5 (20%). I don't start to worry about this one till the end of the year, but I already have one challenge done!

The challenge: Write 41+ discussion posts
Progress: 23/41 (56%). And I'm doing great on this one. Thankfully. Because this reading/blogging slump is no joke 😭

I'm on track on 7/13 (54%) of the challenges. I've also failed one, but completed another. Not too bad. Especially because I'm SO close to finishing a couple more of them!
