Monthly Wrap-Up: October 2021

This was a pretty good reading month. I read 8 books and 5 short stories, for a total of 2722 pages. This is my 3rd best reading month this year. And I am happy to say that I enjoyed most of the books I read!

Books read this month:

Last month I was on a real sci-fi kick, and this month I continued on with that genre. Clash of Flesh and Metal I really enjoyed! I really love the concept of this series, the sci-fi world, and just the fact that the main character has this love/hate relationship with technology. Especially now that she has an AI arm 😬 The mystery was a bit predictable but I enjoyed the ride and just the mayhem with the androids! I am very excited for the conclusion of the series! And as you can see, I binge read the entire Space Janitor series and all the short stories I could get my hands on! 😆 I really enjoyed it!

I liked the mysteries and the banter between the characters... although I honestly could've used more of that romance 😏 It's not meant to be a spicy series, but at least give me more kissing! Lol. Regardless, it was a lot of fun! And I am so glad that there is a sequel series because I just love this world! I won't be starting it immediately, but I did purchase the two books in that series, so I will get back to this world soon-ish.

I love Kendare Blake's Anna Dressed in Blood—it is one of my favorite horror books! SO I was super excited to read All These Bodies! While it's not the supernatural horror that Anna is, it is a murder mystery, which is another genre I love. However, it was a bit of a disappointment 😞 The mystery was very intriguing, but wow was it an unsatisfying ending. I needed more of my questions answered!

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder and its sequel on the other hand, AMAZING! I loved them! Both mysteries were really intriguing and I love the way the stories were told with the notes and the interviews and texts and all that. None Shall Sleep was another mystery where two teenagers help the FBI track down a serial killer. It was very Criminal Minds and I loved it!

Favorite books of the month:

Excuse while I just list all the books 😂 The Space Janitor series is so much fun! I love the futuristic world, the fun banter, the mysteries, and all the trouble our main characters always finds herself in. Lol. And A Good Girl's Guide to Murder series, also SO GOOD! They mysteries were also very interesting, and just the process of unraveling them was great. The plot twists were amazing and I just cannot wait to get my hands on the last book in the trilogy (it's on its way from the library!)

Least favorite book of the month:

I was so surprised with this book and how little I ended up liking it. The mystery itself was very intriguing, but that ending was very unsatisfactory. There were many unanswered questions and just things the girl did that didn't make sense and I just... I don't know. I really thought I was gonna love this. And while it wasn't terrible, it also wasn't that great.
