Lili Lost in a Book: Sunday Post #462: Readathon Weekend

What I've been doing:

Just work and naps and Sims 4 and more naps... ANYWAY 😆 Yesterday and Friday, there was a 24-hour readathon that I participated in, and it was so fun! I obviously didn't read all 24 hours, but I did get quite a bit of reading done. I'm hoping this will FINALLY help me get out of this prolonged reading slump 😩

Today I'm going on a day trip to a spooky farmers market and I am SO excited! Yes, it's July. No, I don't care 😆 Spooky Season is a state of mind... A state of mind I'm in year-round 😆 Anyway, I'll tell you guys all about it next week!

What I've been watching:

This week I started season 2 of Schitt's Creek... and I think that's all I watched? I don't remember. Lol.

What I've been listening to:

What I've been playing:

So the latest reward event is over, and the ending was... lackluster. I like these events because we get free stuff out of them, but the tasks this time around and the overall story left much to be desired. Anyway, here is the sim I was playing with. The moment she aged up to a young adult, I moved her out. Lol.

So I wanted to do this sort of rags-to-riches style challenge with her because we got the natural living skill in the fairy pack...

It's pretty fun, except she got a bunch of money from the rewards event, so now she's not even poor 😂 Idk how much more I'm gonna play with her, seeing as how I only play this save for these events. But I might build her a house and just set her up with a partner and maybe a job or something. Idk yet.

But moving on to the Very Veggie Legacy! This is the house of my current generation, the eggplant gen. Lol. I love how it turned out! I don't usually build very bold houses like this. She lives in Ciudad Enamorada, which was inspired by Mexico, and as a Mexican American myself, I was SO freaking excited when this pack came out! I took some inspiration from houses I've seen IRL when I go over there, but I also had some help from Pinterest. Lol. There, on the side of the house, is where you access the cellar.

And this is the backyard. She has a greenhouse for her plants and some plots on the side for her to grow her eggplants.

I also gave her a bar with a dance floor (she needed to max the dancing skill), and then a closeup of the greenhouse.

And then we have the living room, and the kitchen and dining area. (Ignore the man in the kitchen... We'll talk about him later 👀)

Here is one of the bathrooms and then her office. She's a romance consultant aka a couples therapist, so I made this office with the thought that this is where she meets her clients. I mean, she doesn't actually, but it's for the story! Lol.

This is her bedroom with the vibrating heart bed (I HAD to give this bed to her!) and then her attached bathroom.

Then we have the home gym (she needed to max the fitness skill) and then the kid's bedroom!

And I almost forgot to show you the basement... I literally had to go in-game again to grab the screenshots 😂 But here is where she makes and stores her nectar (aka wine), plus a small bathroom...

And an extra bedroom 👀 Does it perhaps belong to the man in the kitchen?? We'll talk about it later 😏

Moving on to gameplay! She invited her family over for dinner for a family reunion of sorts. Her parents didn't know her kid, and SHE hadn't even met her second kid! Speaking of the poor kid, he spawned outside and had to crawl inside by himself 😭 But once he was inside, Amethys played with him for a bit. Can't say he looks happy 😅 (I did end up going into CAS to give him a makeover and I decided to name him Rusty... because orange lol).

And here is Carroline (who I decided that I want to rename Carrotline and really lean into the silliness of this challenge 😆) meeting her little brother for the first time.

And here is the family having dinner! So cute 😭 Amethys also invited both of her baby daddies, and shockingly, no drama broke out 😂

Also, while Amethyst's brother and his wife were over, I took the opportunity to control them (using a mod... I can't be bothered to be switching between households 😆) so they could have a baby! They hadn't had one autonomously, so I stepped in because I wanted that to happen. Lol. I want Carrotline and her sibling to have some cousins. Lol.

And here is some more of Carrotline, she is SO cute! Look at her hugging her grandma 😭 Oh! So the oversized crop competition thing finally came around, and I had Amethyst enter one of her eggplants! Before the event, her mom showed up at her house, so I thought I would take both her mom and daughter with her for some bonding time. It was a great idea, tbh. Lol.

This is the place where I have her sell her extra crops. She uses some to make nectar, but her cellar is full at this point so I've been selling everything lately. Anyway, here's the thing, Kim, the grocery shop owner, was MARRIED to Kiyoshi, one of Amethyst's baby daddies. The thing is, she always gives my sim a discount on things, AND she buys her crops for more money than the usual! And Amethyst stole her husband without a second thought 😩 And Amethyst doesn't even care about him! She's going to drop him like she's dropped everyone else 😭 The poor lady. (Also, check out how much money she made from selling her crops! Those eggplants were expensive!)

At the competition, her current official partner showed up and also entered. Honestly, I had forgotten this guy was her boyfriend. I'm pretty sure SHE forgot too 😂 But Amethyst ended up winning the competition! I don't know if I've ever won one... though to be fair, I don't think I've ever entered this one in particular before. Lol.

Let's talk about the man in the kitchen... So I was scrolling through Reddit the other day because I just love looking at what everyone is doing with their sims, and someone got a hot butler and made a whole telenovela out of it, which gave me the idea to give Amethyst a hot butler too! I mean, Amethyst is already living her life like she's in a telenovela or something, and romancing the hot butler would be totally on brand for her! 😆 (I swear to you, I saw this telenovela with my mom YEARS ago). But I've even come up with a story for Amethyst thanks to this! The reason why Amethyst didn't immediately go get her son from Kiyoshi as soon as he was born is because I, Liliana, did not want to play with infants 😂 But story-wise, I'm saying it's because Amethyst was wanting to get her shit together and thus hired the butler to help with the house work, her garden, and the kids... the fact the he turned out to be hot was just a plus for her 😆 (I actually went into CAS and made him, so it wasn't a coincidence at all lol). I kind of want him to be her end game... maybe not in the sense that they get married. But who knows, maybe she'll settle down now? I mean, she did age up into an adult around this time, too, so...

Oh, and here are the challenge rules! We obviously finished the broccoli gen a while ago, and at this point Amethyst has completed most of her goals as well! I just need to go in and check how she's doing on her career... that's the last thing she needed to do. But after that, we are moving onto gen 3, the carrot gen!
