The Grinch Book Tag!

I saw this tag over at Angel's Guilty Pleasures and I just had to do it because it looked like so much fun!

HALF THE LIGHTS ON THE CHRISTMAS TREE ARE BURNT OUT
Name a book/series/character that started out good, but went downhill

My Lunatic Life (Lunatic Life, #1) Lunatic Detective (Lunatic Life, #2) Lunatic Revenge (Lunatic Life, #3) Lunatic Times Two (Lunatic Life, #4)

I LOVED the first book in this series! It was cute and fun and it had a really interesting mystery! Books two and three though... they were meh at best. They weren't as fun and I honestly don't know what the hell happened between books one and two to have this drastic change. I actually haven't read the fourth and final book because I just can't be bothered, even though I am curious to see how this series ends.

ANNOYING GREAT AUNT SALLY WHO WILL NOT LEAVE YOU ALONE
Name a book that you didn’t enjoy, but everyone else seems to love it so it never goes away

Stalking Jack the Ripper

I'm still in shock about this one because this type of book is made for me! But the mystery was predictable, the thrills were nonexistent, the romance was meh, the love interest was blah, and you got hit over the head with the same societal issues every other freaking page. I get it! Good grief! Anyway, I wanted to love it, but I guess it just wasn't for me 🤷‍♀️

YOUR PETS KEEP KNOCKING OVER THE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS
Name a character that kept messing things up for everyone else. It can’t be a villain!

My Fair Godmother (My Fair Godmother, #1) My Unfair Godmother (My Fair Godmother, #2) My Fairly Dangerous Godmother (My Fair Godmother, #3)

Chrysanthemum Everstar, Fairy Godmother in training, is really bad at granting wishes and she messes them up every single time. It's hilarious! This is one of my favorite series just because the things Chrissy does are just insane and the poor main characters have to fend for themselves. Lol.

YOU HEAR YOUR PARENTS PUTTING OUT THE PRESENTS AND LEARN SANTA ISN’T REAL
Name a book you were spoiled for

The Stepsister (Fear Street, #9)

So this was my own fault because I skimmed the synopsis of the sequel to this book, so while reading this I already knew who the culprit was 🙄 Lol.

IT’S FREEZING OUTSIDE
Name a main character you couldn’t connect with

Spellbinding

I love witches and magic, but the fact that I couldn't connect with the main character was one of the things that hindered my enjoyment of this book 😕

MARIAH CAREY’S ‘ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU’ AND IT’S GIVING YOU ANTI-ROMANTIC FEELINGS
Name a couple you couldn’t stand

Roar (Stormheart, #1)

Locke and Roar? No fluffing thanks. I'm not into toxic masculinity 😒

HATE SCRATCHY HOMEMADE WOOL SWEATER YOU GOT FOR CHRISTMAS YEARS AGO BUT WON’T GET RID OF
Show some books that have been sitting on your shelves for awhile, and you aren’t motivated to read, but you don’t have the heart to get rid of

Fins Are Forever (Fins, #2) Starcrossed (Starcrossed, #1) Bite Me! The Reaping (The Fahllen, #1)

These are some of the books I own that have been on my tbr shelf the longest. I will get to them eventually, just not now 😅 Lol

GRANDMA GOT RUN OVER BY A REINDEER
Name a character death that you are still mad about

Prey (Shifters, #4)

You know who... and I am still not okay 😭

THE MALLS ARE OVERLY CROWDED WITH HOLIDAY SHOPPERS
Name a series that has too many books in it/went on too long

Pretty Little Liars (Pretty Little Liars, #1)

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the first 8 books I read, but 16? It might be getting a little same-y, but I think I still kinda want to read the rest of the series 🤷‍♀️ Lol.

THE GRINCH
Name a main character that you hate

Enchantment (Channie, #1)

Channie was immature, obnoxious, disrespectful, a spoiled brat, and I just... I could not stand her! 😠

Let me know if you've read any of these books and what you thought of them!

I am not tagging anyone in particular, but feel free to do it yourself if you'd like! I'd love to see your answers! 😁

  1. Hahaha! Well, this tag is certainly a twist on the holiday spirit. (And, yeah, kind of fun!)
