Synopsis: The Federation made three mistakes:
Leaving Quinn to die
Framing Quinn for treason
Taking Quinn's kids
She could get over the first two.
With her friend Tony, a man of surprising connections and mysterious family, Quinn rescues herself and the other "inconvenient" spouses left to die on the abandoned asteroid outpost. When Quinn launches her campaign to retrieve her kids, the Federation will realize taking children from their mother is the biggest mistake of all. Because Quinn will do whatever it takes to get them back—even start a revolution.
It’s been three weeks since the event of The Trophany (the prequel novella) went down, and now Quinn has been convicted of aiding and abetting a Krimson Spy and is currently waiting in jail to be executed.
What a way to start off the book! I loved it! What I loved even more was that the supposed Krimson Spy she supposedly helped actually came to break her out of jail! When I tell you I love Tony...
Quinn and Tony are really good friends and have known each other for years. I’m not gonna lie, I was hoping for a more than friends situation here because I shipped them right from the start. But unfortunately, Quinn is already married. Even worse, the guy she’s married to is an absolute dick! He works for the government and he actually goes to see her where she’s being held, but he doesn’t believe anything she says when she’s describing to him what actually happened after she and other military spouses were abandoned on the asteroid outpost. And to add insult to injury, he wouldn’t let her see their kids one last time!!
I am SO glad that Tony came to the rescue! I could not believe that Quinn’s husband wouldn’t do anything to save her! It was crazy! And that was why I was hoping for some romance between Quinn and Tony. A little friends-to-lovers situation perhaps?
But while we didn’t get any romance in this book, I’m still holding out hope we’ll get some in the rest of the series because I just love him! And I really liked the rest of his family too! I don’t want to say too much about them because it was just fun finding out about them as you read, but all I’m gonna say is that his family is fun and Tony, badass as he may be, is considered the white sheep of the family 😂
I’ve been slowly working my way through all of Julia Huni’s books, and this was the last series by her I needed to start. And I am happy to say that I really enjoyed it! It was action-packed, had lovable characters, and a very intriguing story! One thing I’ve noticed about her books is that she always includes cute, helpful animals. And Sashelle in this book? She is my favorite! I love her! She is giving me Liam vibes (from the Colonial Explorer Corps series). Anyway, I am very excited to continue on with this new-to-me-series and see where the story heads from here!

This was a fun series! And yes, I tend to overuse those Supernatural gifs. Lol. I regret nothing 😆
