Top 10 Favorite Books of 2025!

I typically try to only include one book per series in these types of posts, but I just couldn't help myself! I read so many books in great series this year!

The Romara Confrontation was a crossover novel with the Krimson Empire series and it was SO good! I love a good crossover situation! The interactions between the characters were so funny, especially because we got alternating POVs between Siti from CEC and Quinn from KE. I loved it so much!

The Section 47 series is full of spies, assassins, and magic and I love it! We hadn't had a book in this series so it was nice to get back to it. Especially because urban fantasy is my first love. I love the characters in this series, and I really loved the setting at the ski resort! It was great!

The Ellie Jordan series is another series I love. It's spooky, it has fun banter, and really interesting cases involving hauntings and ghosts.

The Lorstalker series is SO freaking good! It's basically Supernatural (my favorite TV show), but they hunt cryptids! I really liked these two cases and I liked getting to know the characters. The third book I didn't love as much, but these first two books were great!

MISTBORN 😭 These two are probably my top 2 favorite books I read this year. No joke. This series was so freaking good! The worldbuilding, the magic system, the characters, the political intrigue... it was SO good! I miss it already 🥲 I know I said that after I finished this series I would continue the Cosmere in publication order, but goddamn if I don't want to read the sequel Mistborn series immediately 😂 Idk. We'll see what happens. Lol.

Full Speed to a Crash Landing was such a fun sci-fi novella! I loved the sassy protagonist, the banter between the characters, and just the overall twisty, fun story!

Project Hail Mary was another great sci-fi book! I really loved the story in this one! It was wild! But so good!

And Dungeon Crawler Carl was a really fun apocalyptic, sci-fi/fantasy book that had me cracking up at its ridiculousness the entire time! Also, I freaking love Princess Donut! 😆

Honorable mentions:

And here are two 5-star nonfiction books I read this year. One was a book of anti-affirmations, and the other was an autobiography by one of my favorite childhood authors: R.L. Stine. Both really short, but really good books!

What were some of your favorite reads of the year? Let me know!

Happy Holidays! 😊
