Synopsis: Strep throat! Hay fever! Influenza! The world is a dangerous place for a red blood cell just trying to get her deliveries finished. Fortunately, she's not alone... she's got a whole human body's worth of cells ready to help out! The mysterious white blood cell, the buff and brash killer T cell, the nerdy neuron, even the cute little platelets -- everyone's got to come together if they want to keep you healthy!

My rating: ★★★★★

In volume 4 of Cells at Work! we take a look at staph, Dengue Fever, hypovolemic shock, and Peyer’s Patch.

One cell type that quickly became my favorite in this series was the Macrophages! In the first chapter with the staph infection, the Macrophages made a big appearance and it made me so happy! The Macrophages are SO pretty! This art style is just 😍

But they are also VERY deadly! Again, that juxtaposition of how beautiful they are with how absolutely badass they are is one of my favorite things! They kick bacteria ass, but they’re still prim and proper 🎀

Another of my favorite characters is, of course, one of the protagonists, Red Blood Cell. In the hypovolemic shock chapter, Red Blood cell actually takes a new red blood cell under her wing... which I found hilarious because this girl still gets lost in the body 😂

This was a fun chapter for many reasons, but one of them was because we got to meet some foreigners... aka a blood transfusion! Lol. I really like the use of metaphors in this series. It makes understanding these illnesses and viruses/bacteria really easy.

This was another good volume. I love the characters, and the art style is gorgeous! Plus, it’s very enjoyable to learn things in this fun, action-filled way. Lol.
