Synopsis: Iko – an audacious android and best friend to the Lunar Queen Cinder – has been tasked with hunting down Alpha Lysander Steele, the leader of a rogue band of bioengineered wolf-soldiers who threaten to undo the tenuous peace agreement between Earth and Luna. Unless Cinder can reverse the mutations that were forced on them years before, Steele and his soldiers plan to satisfy their monstrous appetites with a massacre of the innocent people of Earth.

And to show he’s serious, Steele is taking hostages.

Cinder and Kai, Scarlet and Wolf, Cress and Thorne, and Winter and Jacin all feature in this epic new battle. But it is Iko who must face her deepest fears when she uncovers the truth about her own unusual programming.

My rating: ★★★★☆

So the crew are still dealing with the rogue wolf soldiers and their leader Steele. Throughout this whole book, I was very frustrated with Wolf and all the dumb decisions he made.

But onto more happy things! It’s been about a year since Winter got the implant, and luckily, it has taken the hallucinations away! It didn’t make her less odd, as Tressa and Jacin put it. Lol. But I’m glad cause I like odd Winter. Lol. And then Kai and Cinder were being super cute 😍 He gave her a really special gift that just melted my heart. He is so sweet! And another pair I loved are Kinney and Iko. Their banter is so much fun!

All of Cinder’s friends are just so loyal to her. I mean, Cinder is just such a great person, so how could you not be? Cinder was willing to sacrifice herself for the greater good—I love that she is so selfless—but her friends were like NO! And then because the team is smart, they come up with a brilliant plan! I just love all of these characters so much! 🖤

And I really enjoyed the graphic novel overall. I liked the story, and you know I love the characters and the world. But it does feel less personal than novels for the obvious reason that we aren’t in the characters' heads as much, and I honestly really miss that. But I did enjoy the graphic novel format, especially with all the cool illustrations. I definitely recommend the duology if you love The Lunar Chronicles as much as I do! I’m gonna miss these characters 😞

Once upon a time, the people of Earth and the people of Luna were at peace. Which is a boring way to start a story... but not a bad way to end one.
