Synopsis: In her first graphic novel, bestselling author Marissa Meyer extends the world of the Lunar Chronicles with a brand-new, action-packed story about Iko, the android with a heart of (mechanized) gold. When rogue packs of wolf-hybrid soldiers threaten the tenuous peace alliance between Earth and Luna, Iko takes it upon herself to hunt down the soldiers' leader. She is soon working with a handsome royal guard who forces her to question everything she knows about love, loyalty, and her own humanity. With appearances by Cinder, Cress, Scarlet, Winter, and the rest of the Rampion crew, this is a must-have for fans of the bestselling series.

My rating: ★★★★☆

I was so excited to find out that there was a follow-up graphic novel to The Lunar Chronicles because I was just not ready to say goodbye to these wonderful characters just yet. This takes place after Winter but before the short story Something Old, Something New that is in Stars Above.

This is mostly in Iko 's POV, which, yes please! I love her and her sass and was more than happy to follow her around in this story. Especially because she’s so badass and can kick some serious butt! Anyway, basically, Iko goes to Earth to round up the remaining wolf soldiers from Levana’s army that are still hiding out. All with the help of the cute guard Kinney, who Iko may or may not be crushing on, even though he’s kind of a dick sometimes. Lol.

We also drop in on Cinder, who is an amazing leader! She’s assertive but very caring, and she can give a hell of a speech! Also, she’s changing up the governing system on Luna, so that’s gonna be really interesting! We also see lots of Thorne and Cress, which also made me very happy. Lol. I love them! They are so cute! I just loved seeing what all of these characters have been up to. They may have defeated Levana, but they still have quite a bit of work ahead of them.

But yeah, this was great! I loved being back in this world and seeing all these beloved characters, and in a different way, no less! The graphic novel format was really cool, but I have to admit that I miss being inside the characters' heads. It’s almost more intimate. But of course, that doesn’t lessen my excitement to read volume 2 😉
