I did not end up enjoying this as much as I thought I would 😔 I started off good though. I was really enjoying the small town setting and the Fall vibes with all the Halloween decor and activities the characters were doing. And to be fair, I didn't hate this. I think It's probably a 3-star read for me. But idk, I just didn't love it. There was a lot of over-explanation on things that didn't need it, and that ending was not it. Since finishing this book I have learned that this author loves her open endings and that the open ending in this book is not her only one 🙃 Not a fan of that, not gonna lie.
I meant to get back to Spellcaster but then Mortuary Manor was released this week and I NEEDED it! I love this series and I am having so much fun reading it! In this book, Ellie and Stacey are investigating a haunting in an old funeral home that was turned into a haunted house attraction! I LOVE this setting!
I'm FINALLY getting around to reading this and I am SO excited!! I cannot wait to read all 600+ pages of it 😆 Normally big books intimidate me, but I really enjoyed the first book so I'm excited that this book is equally as long! I'm still on a horror kick so I'm gonna take advantage while it lasts. Lol.
ahh so sad you didn't like The Haunting, but honestly, I can't say I'm that surprised - her books were not it for me 😂😂 We're not the only ones, they don't usually have that high of a rating on GR but I keep hoping I'm gonna love one *sigh* when will I learn?
ReplyDeleteMoving on, I'm so glad you get to read your faves! Red Space sounds so good! How did I not hear about it before? Or maybe I just forgot as usual 😂 *adds to TBR*
I didn't know this 😠But I'm glad I know now. I have one more Natasha Preston book but now I don't even know if I'm going to read it 😬
