Monthly Wrap-Up: November 2024

Personally, this was a terrible month. I feel better now emotionally/mentally... still not 100% and probably won't be for the next 4 years. IYKYK. Reading-wise it was a pretty good month though! I read 9 books, which is about 2757. That's about 500 pages more than the previous month!
  • 5 were full-length novels and 4 were manga
  • 8 were part of a series, and 1 was a standalones
  • I started 1 series, finished 1, and abandoned another
  • 8 were finished copies and 1 ARC
  • 6 were physical books and 3 were an ebooks
  • 4 were 5-star books, 4 were 4-star books, and 1 was a 3-star read
  • 1 was indie published and 8 were traditionally published
  • 2 were by a new-to-me author and 7 were by authors I've previously read
  • 4 were adult books and 5 YA
  • 3 were sci-fi horror, 1 supernatural horror, 4 action adventure, and 1 romantic fantasy

Books read this month:

I loved Mortuary Manor! On this case, Ellie and Stacey investigate a haunting in a haunted house attraction that is held in a former mortuary... I literally loved everything about that! The haunted house attraction sounded cool and just the fact that it was actually haunted was so funny to me 😂

Then I read some more Spy x Family and it was great as always! Volume 8 in particular takes place on a cruise ship and it was just a lot of fun! And it was action-packed because Yor had an assignment on the ship 👀

I also really enjoyed Revenant-X. I have been looking forward to this book for such a long time, so I was so happy that I finally got around to it! Especially because we finally found out what happened to the colony on Paradise-1. And let me just say, it was wild. I cannot wait to see what happens next because things just got a whole lot worse for these characters 😬

And Chimera is the last book in the Parasitology series and I really liked it overall! Some of the story beats of the overall series got repetitive, but aside from that, I liked everything else. I liked the story and the characters, the science was intriguing and some parts were truly horrifying. It was a really solid ending to the series.

William was not as good as I was hoping it would be. I liked the premise of a house being haunted by an AI, but the execution didn't do it justice. Plus, I just didn't care for the characters.

Heartless Hunter is another book I didn't love as much as I was hoping. It wasn't terrible... I really liked the worldbuilding and the magic system, but I just didn't care for the characters or the romance... which isn't great when this is a romantic fantasy 😅

And I ended the month with more Spy x Family! Volume 9 wrapped things up on the cruise ship, which, again, was very fun. And volume 10 went a bit into Loid's past which I found very interesting but very sad. I'm actually almost caught up in this series 😩 I only have two more volumes and I'm not ready 😭

Mortuary Manor was amazing! And the two Spy x Family volumes with the cruise ship were my absolute favorite!

I didn't hate this book, but it was definitely disappointing.
