Synopsis:

Old habits die hard for assassins.

And I plan on murdering someone before the night is through.

Killing used to be my regular gig, after all. Gin Blanco, aka the Spider, assassin-for-hire. And I was very, very good at it. Now, I’m ready to make the one hit that truly matters: Mab Monroe, the dangerous Fire elemental who murdered my family when I was thirteen. Oh, I don’t think the mission will be easy, but turns out it’s a bit more problematic than expected. The bitch knows I’m coming for her. So now I’m up against the army of lethal bounty hunters Mab hired to track me down. She also put a price on my baby sister’s head. Keeping Bria safe is my first priority. Taking Mab out is a close second. Good thing I’ve got my powerful Ice and Stone magic—and my irresistible lover, Owen Grayson—to watch my back. This battle has been years in the making, and there’s a good chance I won’t survive. But if I’m going down, then Mab’s coming with me . . . no matter what I have to do to make that happen.

My rating: ★★★★★

Finally, the fight we've all been waiting for: The Spider vs Mab Monroe!

We learned that Mab was the one who killed Gin and Bria's family, and now it's finally time for Gin AKA the Spider to take revenge. But it wont be easy, especially considering the bounty hunters that Mab hired to get both Bria and the Spider (who she still doesn't know is Gin)! What?! I honestly cannot believe Mab has not found out the Spider's identity yet. But then, just when we think Gin has the upper hand (and the element of surprise)... BAM! Everything that could go wrong for Gin does!

Ugh! The suspense... I loved it! :D The whole thing was just so intense and action-packed... it was crazy good! I've absolutely fallen in love with this world and its characters! I just have so much love for this series, especially considering I don't typically read adult stuff that often. I'm a YA girl through and through, but I am convinced that I'll pretty much love anything Jennifer writes!

However, I could do without all the repetitions. I am so surprised I didn't notice this in her Mythos Academy series (because said repetitions were apparently there as well). They get kind of annoying sometimes =/ However, this would be perfect if you don't plan on binge reading the series (like I did) and instead you wait a long period between books. That way you have a refresher of what happened in the precious books! But mostly I just outright skipped them. No biggie :)

Gin is awesome, Finn is also amazing, I LOVE Owen, and there were some really sweet moments between Gin and Bria and I actually got teary-eyed :') Awesome characters, amazing story... but now that the first arc is done, I'm gonna take a little break from Gin... but not for too long! ;)

Elemental Assassin is such an amazing series and Spider's Revenge had a wonderful ending that wrapped things up nicely. But I most definitely cannot wait to see what will be on store next for our assassin Gin Blanco!

Have you read this book? If so, what did you think about it? If not, what do you think? Does it sound like something you might want to read? Leave me a link to your review or comment below! :)

  2. I lvoe this series. I think I read the book after this and own a few more books, but haven't continued the series in a while even though I love it. I really should pick it up again soon. I notice the repetitions in all Jennifer Estep her books, but often don't mind them, but indeed if your binge reading them it can get on your nerves. I binged the first few elemental assassin books and the repetitions can be a bit annoying then. On the other hand I am hapyp for it when it's been awhile since I read the last book. Great review!
