Synopsis: Something strange is happening at the Orsk furniture superstore in Cleveland, Ohio. Every morning, employees arrive to find broken Kjerring bookshelves, shattered Glans water goblets, and smashed Liripip wardrobes. Sales are down, security cameras reveal nothing, and store managers are panicking.

To unravel the mystery, three employees volunteer to work a nine-hour dusk-till-dawn shift. In the dead of the night, they’ll patrol the empty showroom floor, investigate strange sights and sounds, and encounter horrors that defy the imagination.

A traditional haunted house story in a thoroughly contemporary setting, Horrorstör is designed to retain its luster and natural appearance for a lifetime of use. Pleasingly proportioned with generous French flaps and a softcover binding, Horrorstör delivers the psychological terror you need in the elegant package you deserve.

My rating: ★★★★☆

I really loved the idea of a haunted knock-off Ikea, and this book turned out to be quite enjoyable and very wacky. It was great!

So, weird things started happening around the store, like the escalator running down instead of up, and it was just funny. Everyone is spooked, thinking the place is maybe haunted.

“Do you believe in ghosts?” she asked.
Amy stepped back, startled. “Jesus!”
“I guess he counts as a ghost,” Trinity said. “But I meant more of the Paranormal Activity type.

😂 One of the things I liked about the book was all the interesting, fun characters.

Trinity was one of those happy, super-popular, high-energy girls who reminded Amy of the creatures from Gremlins: she was fun for about half an hour, then you wanted to stuff her in a blender.

The book was also quite creepy and a bit gory, which you know I love. Also, the end there gave me some legit anxiety, that’s how intense it was! Luckily I don’t have claustrophobia cause otherwise it would've been worse 😬 I enjoyed it though! I even liked the epilogue, and I’m generally not a big epilogue person. Basil and Amy were just really sweet and I liked seeing what they were up to after everything that happened. Speaking of which, I enjoyed the character development Amy went through. This book just had a lot of great characters!

Overall, I really enjoyed it! I liked the characters and the setting, plus it was really funny and creepy. I definitely recommend this one!
