Synopsis: Kerry's had a very bad year. But now his luck has finally changed.

He's got a blind date with a girl who sounds really hot.

He can't wait. He knows this girl is going to be really different.

Kerry's right.

Because his blind date really is the girl of his dreams.

Or maybe his worst nightmares...

My rating: ★★★☆☆

Kerry had a pretty terrible year... or so he is told. He was in some sort of accident that involved his brother but he doesn’t remember it and no one has told him any specifics, for his own good I guess. But now Kerry has a blind date with some random girl who randomly calls him. Sounds like the start of a horror book... oh wait! 😂 He also started receiving threatening calls and ALL of these things may or may not be related.

The mystery surrounding the accident was very intriguing but a little predictable... well some of it. Some parts really surprised me. Another thing that surprised me was that the dad in this book wasn’t totally awful! Kerry wasn’t that terrible either, he was a little dumb, but not nearly as bad as other Point Horror characters. Lol. The relationship between him and his dad was a little complex and I really enjoyed watching them navigate the relationship as best they could. The thing with the brother... The dad did some things to protect Kerry that he just did not understand, but when the dad laid things out for him I was like awww. This guy wasn’t too bad.

Mandy, the girl Kerry has a blind date with, was weird. She did these little things that put Kerry off and maybe made him a little suspicious, but then he immediately shrugged it off. Like, dude, no! It’s a good thing you’re being suspicious, you dope! Lol.

Kerry’s best friend Josh I liked. Right from the start Josh is trying to cheer Kerry up and I was like aww again. Lol. He was also pretty funny and I didn’t hate the jokes like I usually do. Maybe I was in a good mood. Idk. Lol.

And the thing with his brother was intense! Like I said, there were some things I was not expecting. It’s understandable why he blocked out the accident from his mind.

But overall it was a good read! I liked the characters, the mystery was interesting, and the climax was quite violent! That also surprised me. Lol. But yeah, not bad.

  1. Great review! I love that the dad was a caring, concerned father in this one. I also enjoy humor in my books, so it sounds like the author added a great comedy relief character in Josh. The secrets surrounding the brother intrigue me (secrets always make me curious), so I'm glad it wasn't all predictable for you.

    1. Thank you! Humor in these books can be a hit or miss, but I'm gad it worked out in this one. And yeah, predictable twists aren't usually fun, but this one had some good ones.
